Hi I'm Max Moncur

I'm a California native. I'm a cross country team state champion. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a varsity cross country and track athlete for my high school from which I won a team state championship. I love playing basketball, ultimate frisbee, and surfing on my free time. I enjoy spending time at the beach and exploring with my friends. I'm an avid Disneyland goer. I'm from southern California and I'm currently serving a two-year mission in the Philippines Legaspi mission (July 2013-July 2015).

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I chose to be. I was lucky enough to be born into this church, but that alone isn't enough. You have to find out for yourself (James 1:5), so that's what I did. I'm Mormon because I know this gospel is true. The blessings I receive are amazing. I'm so thankful to know that I have a loving Father in Heaven who loves and cares for me. I'm so glad that I can be with my family forever. I know who I am and where I'm going, and without this I would be lost and confused. I know this church is true and if I didn't I would not be giving up all I have to serve a two-year mission in the Philippines.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith by dedicating two years of my life to serving a mission. I'm an Eagle Scout and I try to incorporate the things I learned from Scouting into helping me be a better person. I strive to live as my Heavenly Father would want me to and work daily on improving my weaker areas. I live my faith by being a good example to my friends and by inviting them to come to church activities with me. I love getting a group of my non-LDS friends to come to Mormon dances with me and go crazy together. I also bring many non-LDS friends to play in my church basketball league. I hope that I am an example of joy and exemplify that you can find happiness in almost anything.
