Hi I'm Sharman

I grew up dancing, rock climbing and playing sports. Now I'm married and a mother of 3, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I started dancing at the age of 4 years old. I trained at several private dance studios and them began working professionally as a dance teacher and performer. I during college I competed as a dancer and continued to train and work professionally. I had some amazing experiences travelling, touring and performing. When I was 21 I put dancing aside to move to New York to be a missionary for the church. I worked with people that are deaf or hard of hearing and learned American Sign Language (ASL). When I returned for New York I learned how to interpret ASL and have worked as an interpreter for the last 10 year. I attended college and studied nursing. I am also married and we have 3 great kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the doctrines are very complete. I can learn the principle taught by the Savior from the scriptures and from living prophets. I feel great peace when I attend church. The people are not perfect but neither am I. I appreciate the sense of community that the church brings to my life. I am also a Mormon because the lifestyle is helping me to be a better individual, a mother, a friend and a wife.

How I live my faith

I am currently the music leader for the children at church. I help the children learn about the doctrines of the scriptures and their Savior through music. I love it. I don't have a lot of musical background, so I started taking piano lesson and learned to read music in order to teach it more clearly and accurately. My favorite thing about working with children is their innocence. They are so ready to learn and feel the sweet peace that comes from spiritual things. When they sing it brings such a feeling of comfort and love to the room. When they pick their favorite songs they are almost always reverent, or related to peaceful themes.
