Hi I'm Joel

I'm the youngest of 9 children. I grew up in a small town in Arizona. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy riding horses and outdoor activities such as camping and hiking. I am an Eagle Scout. I play sports. I love my family and I love spending time with them. My dad died of cancer when I was 9 years old. My mother has raised me alone since my dad's death. I try every day to follow my father's example.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me hope. I have been taught since before I can remember that families can be together forever. I no longer have to depend on my parents' and teachers' knowledge about families. I know for myself that families can be together forever. I know that a loving Father in Heaven sent us to Earth to learn and to grow and to find happiness. I know that the greatest and purest happiness can be found in a family that is full of love towards each other and towards Jesus Christ. Knowing all of this gives me a hope and a purpose in this life that I would not have otherwise. It gives me a hope that I will be able to be with my dad again. It teaches me what I need to do and who I need to become to live with my family for eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the things that would make my father proud. I participate actively in my young mens' group. I fulfill my calling as secretary in that group and a home-teacher to a few of the families in my area. Every day I work a little harder to be a little better than I was the day before. Every day I make the choices that will make my father proud of me.
