Hi I'm Kelsey

I grew up in a small city outside of Salt Lake City. My family means everything to me. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am an English student from a local University. My family and I are huge New York Yankee fans and watch almost every game during the summer. My life seems to revolve around church, family, school, and baseball. I happen to be one of those nerds that loves school. I love learning and reading and being in situations where I have to think critically or creatively. One thing that my family does a lot is travel. We love to pack and bag and drive to Disneyland on a whim. We have family spread out over the country and like visiting them as much a possible and seeing the sights wherever we may go. One of my goals in life is to see the world. I want to see different cultures and places. Traveling with my family has given me a good jump on this goal but I want it to continue till I'm old and gray.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being one makes my life easier. Being a Mormon simplifies everything I do. When I am living the gospel principles I have such a peace and understanding of what is going on around me. I know that whenever I am going through a difficult trial if I turn to the Lord, he will help me get through it. I have been through so much heart-ache in my life and the one thing that has always remained constant is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. No matter how bad my day is, or how sad I feel, I have the knowledge that I can turn the the Lord and he will comfort me. He doesn't make the trial go away, he just makes them easier to handle. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on the earth. I know this because I have felt it in every aspect of my life. I know this because I would not be where I am in my life without it. I thank the Lord everyday for the true gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday and living the principles that I learn there throughout the week. For a while I was called to teach the young women of our ward, and I got to meet the incredible youth of the church. I attend the Institute of Religion at the University and have a class that is completely dedicated to the gospel. My favorite Institute class that I have ever taken was called The Gospel and Other World Religions. It was a class where we learned what other religions believed and compared them to what we believe. It was amazing to learn about all the dedicated people in all corners of the world.
