Hi I'm Jessica Leblow

I'm studying to be a biology teacher! I love science and nature and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I study conservation biology and biological science education at Brigham Young University. My whole life I have loved science. All of God's creations fill me wonder and learning about the natural world fascinates me. I want to become a biology teacher so that I can share this love of nature and life. In my spare time I like to read, paint, scuba dive, watch birds, and hike and explore. Basically I love anything to do with nature. My father is in the US Army, so throughout my life I have had the opportunity to live many places. I've lived in Oregon, Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Singapore, Kansas, Tennessee, and Utah. Currently my family lives in Colorado. I've met many people and been many places, but the Church of Jesus Christ and all of its teachings has been the same wherever I have been. I served a full time mission in Albania. It was the most awesome experience of my life. Albania and the people I love there will always have a piece of my heart. I am truly grateful that I had the opportunity to serve the Lord there, and this experience taught me so many things that I will never forget.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a solid foundation in my life. Throughout the many changes in my life, the teachings of this church have helped me. The teachings of Jesus Christ are profound and glorious. I personally can feel his love for me. He loves all his children and he has provided a way for all of us to return to him and God, our Heavenly Father, through the atonement. This is the good news, or the gospel, that the Church teaches. This gives my life direction and brings my heart hope. When I feel alone, discouraged, or weighed down, I know I can turn to God and Christ for relief. The love of Christ is one of the greatest things I have ever felt and the feeling of forgiveness is one of the most profound emotions I have ever experienced. I can hardly comprehend how amazing it is that Christ came here to Earth and died for us all, each of us, individually. I am forever in debted to him. I know that God is personally involved in our lives, in every single persons life. If we are in-tune with his spirit we will see miracles every day as we follow Christ. The scriptures help bring us closer to God. The Book of Mormon provides wisdom and council for me. It is truly an inspired book, full of truth, bringing people closer to Christ. I love to read and re-read it. I have read many books, but none are closer to my heart than this one. It has truly changed my life and continues to do so.

How I live my faith

My whole life I have enjoyed participating in this church. There are always opportunities to participate and serve people. I served a mission in the Adriatic South Mission speaking Albanian. I know that I serve the Lord best when I accept his timing and plans in my life, even when they are different than my own plans. I also serve him by obeying his commandments, and by showing Him that I have placed Him first in my life.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Jessica Leblow
I am going to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I love this gospel and its teachings. Whenever I find things I love, like a new recipe or a good book, I want to share about it. This is even more true for the gospel. I have felt so many wonderful things and have had so many positive experiences. I know that this Church is true. I want to dedicate my time to talk about and to share it with everyone, so that they can experience the joy I have felt. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Jessica Leblow
If you have and open heart and an open mind, you can find out if this church is tue by simply asking God. I know that it is possible to receive an answer to prayer through the Holy Ghost. As I have read the scriptures and followed the commandments the truth of this church has been confirmed to me. God will give answers to anybody that asks him sincerely. Show more Show less
