Hi I'm Tyler Newkirk

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing and listening to music. Also, I love studying economics, the ideals of liberty, and American History. Currently I am serving a mission in Londrina, Brazil. Upon my return I will attend Brigham Young University and anticipate to study Economics.

Why I am a Mormon

What is most appealing about the Mormon religion to me is the belief in agency. I am a very strong advocate for freedom and individual responsibility, and this church affirms my beliefs. Not only does it affirm my beliefs, but it is a major foundation for my beliefs of liberty. The Book of Mormon constantly emphasizes freedom of choice, and how to have complete freedom we neeed to look to our Savior Jesus Christ. Sin and transgressions enslave us and hold us pinned to Lucifer. However, through the Atonement of Christ we can recieve forgiveness and be freed from the bondage of the Adversary. Furthermore, this religion preaches about how we are each individually responsible for our own Salvation. The ordinances in our church are done individuallly for each person and not as a group. Plus, we are taught that we are each of very great worth in the sight of the Lord. Each of us is different and given seperate talents and abilities. This makes each of us a rarety, and therefore are valuable to the Lord and His plan.

How I live my faith

Currently I am preparing in the Mission Training Center to serve a full-time mission in Londrina, Brazil. I have been studying the gospel, and portuguese language daily, so that I may be able to bring the joy of the gospel to the people of Brazil.
