Hi I'm Alexandra Smith

I was born and raised in Utah. I study art and animation. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

I enjoy drawing and animation. I love hearing about the research and work that goes into making a movie, about learning how things work and showing that on screen in a way we can recognize and relate to. Story-telling has been around for centuries, and I feel privileged to live in this age where the art of telling a story can be shown through sight and sound, as well as emotion. Being able to go out and do something fun, like snowboarding or hiking, gives me the opportunity not only to enjoy that activity, but it also lets me see how the world works in that aspect; how the wind moves the leaves in the trees and the clouds in the sky. I like to take those things I see and try to recreate them through my art.

Why I am a Mormon

Whether you have been raised in the Church or not, there comes a time in your life where you ask yourself if any of this is true. I went through the same thought process; I needed to know if it was true, because I knew it was going to affect how I lived the rest of my life. So I pondered all that I had come to learn about the Church, and read through the whole Book of Mormon. After I did this, I then prayed to Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, to know if everything, these teachings, were true. A few days later, it seemed, I found myself alone thinking about my question. It then came over me, a feeling that seemed to shake me where I sat. I felt warmth in my chest, and I immediately felt an impression that the Book of Mormon was true. I know that was the Holy Ghost testifying to me. And because I knew from that point the Book of Mormon was true, everything else that I had been taught began to fall into place. I have a testimony that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true, restored church on this earth today. That God brought back His word and His priesthood through His servant, Joseph Smith. I know that God speaks to us today through the Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I know that by living worthily I can have the Holy Ghost as a companion. And I have a testimony of Jesus Christ's Atonement for our sins. That by following His example we can be cleansed and found worthy to enter the presence of God.

How I live my faith

My testimony of Jesus Christ and His Gospel have helped steer me away from trouble, probably more times in my life than I realize. It is so nice to know that wherever I go in the world, church is the same, and the members are so welcoming. Being a member of the Church is very important to me. I've had the opportunity to focus on my spiritual well-being by attending church, but I've also held several callings which have allowed me to serve other members of my ward and my community. Those callings have given me the chance to teach and serve others. Living the teachings of the gospel has also helped me grow closer to my family. Despite the hard times we encounter, both outside and within the family, we have always come together at the end of the day to pray together. We do all we can to live in such a way that the Spirit may be present in our home. It has always been such a comfort to me, to know that I can come home to a safe place away from the world, to people who know me and care about me. All of these things I've been able to experience have helped strengthen my faith in Jesus Christ. As I continue to grow and gain new experiences, I know that by keeping Him a priority in my life I will find peace and success wherever I go.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Alexandra Smith
The purpose of missionaries is to invite others to come unto Christ. So, they will talk about Christ and His role in the Plan of Salvation. They will talk about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it can bless one's life. They will talk about the Restoration of the Church and how proper authority to act in God's name has been restored. But most importantly, they will listen to your questions and help you understand how you can find happiness in your life. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Alexandra Smith
I know that many members of the church reach out to everyone, whether they are fellow members or not. I know many who are serving as missionaries at this time, and they are always looking for opportunities to serve others. Show more Show less
