Hi I'm Hailey

I grew up in Washington State. I love the outdoors and nature and doing anything in it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to college for a degree in computer engineering. I love engineering which is math, science and problem solving all in one field. I love to do almost anything outside like hiking, backpacking, camping, water skiing, cross country skiing, and rock climbing. I love my family. I'm the oldest of five children and the only girl. Some of my best memories come from outdoor adventures with them.

Why I am a Mormon

There are a lot of things that I do as a Mormon but maybe one of the best things that I can do is always live what I know. Since I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and I know His teachings bring me happiness I think I need to live my life in a way that will help others want to know Jesus too. I always want to follow Him because he is the light in a world of darkness and confusion. I know that when I follow Him and do what is right then I am happy even when life is hard. When I don't follow Him life is even more difficult, it's confusing and I feel bad. So I need to follow his example always. When I fall short he has provided a way for me to pick myself up and start over again. That is called the atonement. His way isn't easy, but it's straight and it's clear and it's worth it.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to teach the children at church. It is fantastic. Children have such sweet spirits and they are so innocent. They also have the best qualities, they have faith and doubt not. They love life and can see the joy in the simplest things. They always know who Jesus is and they love him. When you get to spend time with them then you feel the love our Savior has for them. If I take the time to pay attention I always go away with new insights about life. I love to read the scriptures. I started reading the scriptures every day when I was 11 and I've never stopped reading them. I love the stories and the doctrine contained in them. They provide me spiritual strength to endure hard things. I often find scriptures as I read that I like and then later those passages help me through the challenges of life. They give me direction or a new way to look at a problem I am facing. But more importantly they point me in the direction of Jesus Christ and help me come closer to him. Now I am serving a mission in the Salt Lake City mission. I am working to help others come to know their Savior Jesus Christ.
