Hi I'm Alise

I'm from California. I love art & photography. I'm a wife to an amazing man and am a dental hygienist. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up loving to be outdoors and serving others. It's always worth it to know that I've helped someone. I love art, especially painting, photography, and decorating. I also love doing many outdoor activities like kayaking, rafting, rappelling, swimming, etc. I love working with kids and have volunteered teaching art and French to elementary students. I'm a huge BYU fan and am currently going to college studying dental hygiene.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to become a Mormon, because I prayed to know if it was true for myself and felt an overwhelming peace that this is God's true church. There is a joy and a light around those who are Mormon. I've found them to always be happy and genuine around others and wanting to help the people they are around. I know that people are not on this Earth by chance, but that we have a divine destiny or role to fulfill. I have come to read the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ, several times and each time I have a better understanding of it and the Church. I believe that Christ came to the America's and that his word was taught to the people there. His word was written down by prophets and those became known as the Golden Plates, which were translated by man named Joesph Smith. This man had very little education, but had the strength and power of God to translate the work so we all could learn from it. This work became known as the Book of Mormon. I know that God still has prophets on the Earth today, who are able to speak to Him and who guide and lead us. It does not make sense for God to put his gospel on the Earth through Christ, then leave us to follow His word with out any guidance. I know that God does answer prayers. I have had answers to question multiple times, and I know that I can trust in Him. He is interested and cares for each one of us, wanting us to return back to Him. I know that this Church is true. It has been a light in my life and has brought me such overwhelming joy. I have seen dear friends come to know of its truthfulness and have seen my family come closer because of it. This church has made me who I am and has made me be better than I could ever be. I hope that others can see the joy it brings and come to learn of it as I have.

How I live my faith

I live my faith first and foremost by being a friend. A friend will never reject or hurt you. They are people who are interested in you and want to build you up for the better. I have found a special place in my heart for the women in the Church both younger and older, as I have found ways to serve them in our church presidency's for our women organizations. Each month I visit 2 ladies and have fun talking to them, learning of their interests, and finding ways to help them. I have helped plan fun activities in our church group and a few service activities. I have also helped often in my church's children programs, helping to teach and watch over them.
