Hi I'm Victoria Joy

I am the oldest of 4 children. I am a piano performance major. I am currently serving a mission! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Salt Lake City, Utah my entire life and absolutely love it. I have grown up in a wonderful family with 3 younger brothers. Currently, I am a piano performance major and I'm in my sophomore year of college. However, about 4 months ago, I received my mission call proceeding the General Conference announcement that girls can now serve missions at age 19. I am pleased to say that I will be serving my mission in Italy I can't wait!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this gospel is true. I know God loves me and that I am His daughter. I know that I am the happiest when I am following Jesus Christ. The covenants I have made and will make, such as being baptized and confirmed, receiving my endowment, and eventually being sealed in the temple, are very sacred and important to me. They are the only way that we can return to our Father in Heaven and live in His presence. I know these things to be true because I have prayed to find out for myself. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it was restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith. We likewise have living prophets and apostles on the earth today. Our prophet, Thomas S. Monsen, is inspired and receives revelations specifically for our day and time. I know that Jesus Christ died for my sins, imperfections, shortcomings, and heartaches. Through His atonement, we can be forgiven of our sins and feel His strength in the times that we feel the most weak or unworthy. There are times when my testimony has been tried and sometimes shaken but I am able to strengthen my testimony of the truth by reading the Book of Mormon and praying to God. God does answer our prayers! He is always there if we will turn to Him, put our trust in Him, and become and instrument in His hands.

How I live my faith

I attend a Singles Ward every sunday and participate in activities such as institute and family home evening throughout the week. My calling in my ward is the Ward Organist where I play the hymns for sacrament meeting. I try to attend the temple as often as possible because that is the place where I feel the closest to my Father in Heaven. When I am living the gospel of Jesus Christ, I am blessed and I feel peace and love that I can't feel anywhere else.
