Hi I'm Steven LoForte

I am husband, father of three boys and an engineer.

About Me

I am an engineer that loves to use technology to make the world around me a better place. I love programming, Ham Radios and swimming. Yea, I'm a nerd and my wife still loves me. But most of all, I love my Wife and 3 boys. As a family we love to go to the kids sports, watch movies, do Family History (I'm technical support!) and go on outings.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young and did not know if the church was true, I recognized that the gospel promises out weighed the requirements of living the gospel and made me say in my heart, "I'll give it a chance, the payback is worth the effort." Now, I know it is true. I see answers to prayers in my family and at work. I know that my successes at work are not because of my efforts, but because the Lord has answered my prayers. There was a time when the owner of my company asked me to fix a broken machine so he could demo it later that day. After finding that the calibration equipment was out of service, I ran out of ideas and went to my office, knelt and said a prayer for help. The thought came to me to ask a particular engineer if he had any ideas. His responded that it was not a problem and showed me how they used to calibrate the equipment by hand when they first developed the product. I know that Jesus Christ lives and is aware of me. I know that we have a living prophet that leads the church under Christ's direction. I love the Book of Mormon and the strength that it gives me to keep God's commandments.

How I live my faith

My wife and I are both Cub Masters for the local cub scout pack. We love to keep the boys wondering what the next adventure will be at each monthly Pack meeting. It might be Abraham Lincoln coming to give us his Gettysburg address or maybe slinging angry bird bean bag at balloon pigs and cardboard boxes. Once we even had our Blue and Gold dinner commandeered by pirates. But that's OK, because every time our main focus is to help the boys learn to love and serve, God, country and neighbor, and to do their best.
