Hi I'm Michelle

I grew up in Texas. I'm a student BYU. I'm 18, and will soon be serving an 18 month mission in Brazil. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Right now, I am a student at Brigham Young University and will probably major in something art related. I have always loved drawing and painting, and all of the visual arts. I love to be outside and have fun in the sun. I love swimming and boating, when I get the chance. I'm experiencing a real winter now for the first time while going to college in Utah, and I'm not a fan, but I'm still loving life and having a great time. I love to be physically fit and to participate in sports. Before high school, I was a gymnast. During my high school years, I was a part of the Varsity diving team. So far in college, I've had a ton of fun participating in intramural water polo, ultimate frisbee, and soccer. I'm the sixth child of ten and I love it! I love my family and friends and I don't know where I would be without them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the church is true. I cannot deny my testimony of the gospel and living it brings me so much joy. I know that there is a God in heaven that loves us and is interested in the details of our lives. He wants us to become perfect through our Savior, Jesus Christ, and through him, it is possible. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, and that it contains the word of God. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that Thomas S. Monson is a modern-day prophet that can receive revelation for the world today. I know that each of us can receive personal revelation through prayer to our Heavenly Father. We can receive answers to our prayers that will help us to know right from wrong. I love my family, and I believe that I can be with them forever through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because it brings me happiness and blesses my life in more ways than I could explain. I am a Mormon because the Book of Mormon is true. I have read it many times, and I have a testimony that it really is the word of God. I am so blessed to have it in my life, and through it, I have been able to find answers to many of life's questions and the strength I need to press forward on the straight and narrow path.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving God's children. I act on the promptings of the Holy Ghost so that I may become an instrument in His hands. I strive to help others in the way Christ would so that I may help others feel God's love through me. This semester of school, I've been volunteering at a local elementary school to help a class of children with special needs. I already love the kids that I get to work with and I hope that I can make a difference in their lives. I gladly accept any church calling I am asked to take. Currently, I am serving as a ward publicist. I get to design flyers for all of the events that are organized for our ward. I have also been called to serve as a missionary for the church in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and I am so excited to teach the people there about the incredible gospel of Christ.
