Hi I'm Dionne

I grew up in Japan, Michigan, and Colorado. I love to create. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love music! I am a dancer, and adore Ballroom, Latin, and Clogging. I play the viola and the piano, and enjoy singing, even if I can't do it very well. I am a voracious reader who loves Austen, Steinbeck, and Shakespeare; and is in her junior year of college studying English, and having a blast. I am the second child of eight, and love getting to see my siblings when I come home from school. I have fun being "crafty" and creating things, but I hate being told what to do, and I don't get along very well with patterns, so I tend to make things up as I go along, and cross my fingers that they'll turn out the way I want them to. Usually they do ;)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe with all my heart that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I believe that He came to this earth to suffer and die to pay the price of my sins, because He loves me enough to be willing to make up for the mistakes I have made and cannot go back in time and undo. I know that without Him, this life would have no true value or meaning because there would be nothing to look forward to after it. I have felt His love in my life, and His hand guiding my actions. I know with a surety that God the Father and Jesus Christ His son appeared to Joseph Smith and through him established the gospel on the earth just as it was in Jesus's own time. That is why I am a Mormon. It is because this Church is the only one that has direct authority from God to do what it professes to do. It is in this church that I can be sealed to my family for time and eternity, and I know that the people I love who have passed beyond this life are not gone forever, but have just gone on before, and when I too reach the time to leave this mortal life, I will be able to see and be with them again. My Faith in Jesus Christ and my testimony of the truth of His gospel are the motivating forces in my life. They are the things that make this world worth enduring. I will never give them up, and until my dying day, I will love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am the secretary for the women's organization in my church, and I absolutely love it. I have the chance to serve and love so many people, keeping things organized and making sure things get done when they need to be, and yet I don't have to be a figure head in front of a large group of people. I also have the blessing of being assigned to visit two ladies who live in my apartment complex. As we visit together, we have a topic we are supposed to teach them about every month, and yet when we go, I find that more often than not I am learning from them. Right now I am preparing to serve a mission for my Church. I am so incredibly excited to have this chance to go to a different part of the world and dedicate 18 months of my life to teaching the people there about the truths I have in my life. I have felt the Love of God so tangibly in my life, it pains me to think that there are people who do not have the same peace that comes from the knowledge that we are all children of God and loved dearly by Him. As a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I will be able to fully dedicate my time to bringing the message of Christ to the people around me.
