Hi I'm Andrew

I grew up in Salt Lake City, have 7 siblings, I like music and sports, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music and I play the piano, trumpet, and I sing. To me music is very powerful and can affect how I feel. I enjoy playing hymn arrangements because they bring the Spirit so strongly into my life and uplift me. I also really enjoy playing sports. I play basketball, volleyball, golf, and I ski. I think it is so fun to challenge myself to be the best I can be. I don't think you can ever be perfect at a sport and that is why it is so fun, you are always trying to make yourself better. Plus, when I am playing sports I am with my friends and family and I love spending time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love this Gospel. The Gospel is so true and it brings me so much happiness when I am learning about it and that is why I am so excited to serve a mission. I can't wait to be able to share that happiness with others and see it bless their lives. One of the teaching of the Gospel is that God is our loving, Heavenly Father. He is always watching over us and knows us personally. He knows what we like and what we don't like, He knows what makes us happy and what make us sad, and He knows what is best for us. It is so comforting to know that He is guiding us and if we will follow His will then we will not go astray. I know that this Church is true, I know that God lives and watches over us, I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet, I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was the who translated it and restored the Church, and I know that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins. He suffered for each of our sins and He knows exactly what we are going through when we are having a rough time. If you ever feel like you are alone, know that you can turn to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and they will be there to comfort and strengthen you if you have faith. I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

The biggest way that I live my faith right now is that I am preparing to go on a mission and serve the Lord for two years. I am so excited to be able to learn a new language and to teach people about the Gospel. I am always striving to be like Christ and I don't think there is a better place to do that than on a mission. Another way that I live my faith is through service in the community. I am an Eagle Scout and am very proud of that. Also, my senior year of high school I was in a group that had to do a certain amount of service each quarter and that was a great experience because I was able to bless the lives of others through that service.
