Hi I'm Colin Darcy

Hello I`m Colin, I`m currently serving as a missionary in England, I Love my family and love to play sports and I`m a Mormon

About Me

Hey I`m Colin I`m Irish, from Dublin and I`m currently serving in the England London South Mission!! I`ve been all over the place, I`ve lived in Dublin then lived in Spain for two years and then all over Ireland. Theres 5 in my family I have two brothers one older one younger. I have a dog called Ruby shes a staffy. Love music (any kind). Big into sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know that this church is true. I am a mormon because I have recieved a special witness from my loving Father in Heaven who I know watches over me. I have prayed and asked with full sincerety of heart for the knowledge that this church is true. My most recent experience that has strenghtened my testimony came to me as I knelt at my bedside and prayed for revelation to an answer to something I was struggling with I recieved this revelation and then questioned whether it was revelation or just what I wanted to hear so I picked up my Book Of Mormon opened it on a random page and the scripture that came to me at this time was alma 5:45-46 as I read it, it strenghtened my faith that our Heavenly Father answers prayers.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to live by my testimony and the principles of the Lord`s church. I live my faith the way everyone should live their lives by having fun and if your not having fun. If your not having fun then your doing it wrong. faith is such a huge part of my life not because it acts as a stabilizer for my life but that it gives me hope for my life and the lives of others. Faith is a principle of power it is something that is so real and powerful that you can see literal miracles occurring right before your eyes. My Faith is and always will be centered On My Savior Jesus Christ, The Book of Mormon, and The Holy Bible.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Colin Darcy
The atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ to me is one of the most sacred, wonderful and beloved act that has ever taken place on the earth. The Atonement was an act performed by our Lord, our Saviour and our beloved elder brother it was when the only begotten son took upon him the sins of the world through his own free will and the agony of this act was so harsh that it cause his body to physically bleed from every pour suffer every sickness, every temptation, every little thing that we may go through in our lives he took that upon himself when he not only willingly but gladly walked into the Garden Of Gethsemane knelt down and prayed to our Heavenly Father. We could never fully comprehend as to the great suffering that he went through in the garden and then to be publicly beaten and bruised spit on and whipped by the very people that he just suffered for to be eventually cruicified and murdered on the cross. We can not fully comprehend the pain and suffering he went through but we know why he went through it. He went through it because of his love for us. He did this because he was the only person that could do this. He is the son of God our Father in Heaven. He sacrificed his life for us so that we could return to live with him some day, so that we can repent when we've fallen and our Lord God will always pick us back up. This is my testimony and I leave it with you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Amen. Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Colin Darcy
The Holy Ghost can bless our lives in so many ways The Holy Ghost or the spirit or the spirit of the lord can bless us as it gives us great peace direction safety happiness confirmation teachings and last conversion and joy. Let us think back on everythings that you`ve ever learned which is good or as stated by paul the apostle "We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things." the things that fall under this category of things learned in life have come from the spirit. "And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."-Moroni 10:5 It is by the Holy Ghost that we learn true and last principles it is by the Holy Ghost that we learn the correct principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I would say that we do not take mans word for anything but if we truely want to know the Lords will then we should do as James Directs "If any man lacks wisdon let him ask of God who gives to all men liberally and unbraidth not and it shall be given him James 1:5 And when you do those things I promise that if they are done with a sincere heart, real intent and believing that you shall receive then you will feel the fruit of the spirit which are 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. In whom should we have faith?

Colin Darcy
In life there is a lot of things that we can have faith in, a friend, a family member or in a bulb lighting up a room when you press the switch, but when we have faith in Jesus Christ its a little different to anything else in life that we can have faith in because like everything above we can rely on those things in different elements of our life but through faith in Jesus Christ we can truly rely on him in all aspects of our lives and unlike all of the above he will never let us down. Jesus Christ is such a huge influential force in my life. Having a faith in Jesus Christ is different to having faith in Jesus Christ. It might sound picky but let me explain, faith is an action word it leads us make choices. Like i said it has played such a great influence in my life that i know that he is there that faith is not blind it is more like a gradual process of knowledge just like we don`t teach a child about physics but we rather give the child the things that the child can take and learn from and build from that point. Faith in Christ leads to wonderful and glorious truths that we can only find in life through him. I challenge you to pray and ask for an answer to the simple question are you there? if you do he will answer i promise you that! Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Colin Darcy
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son or literal Son of our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ is the foundation for everything that we believe and all of the beliefs are based on his doctrine or gospel found in the scriptures that He has given us through prophets. Jesus Christ is the savior of the world he came and gave himself as a "sacrifice for many" it is by him and through him and of him we are redeemed of our fallen state and that the worlds are and were created. The redemption of man I think is what i want to focus on the most, i know that nobody in life is perfect Christ was the only man to ever walk on the earth that was and is perfect, it is because of him we are able to live with him again, it is because of him that we are able to have our families live together after this life, Christ suffered so that we wouldn`t have to. I am so very grateful for a loving God that has that type of love for me and everyone that he took everything wrong that we have ever done and given us a way to clear that out of our life, to be able to have peace and joy in our life, he loves us with an infinite love. I promise you that when you turn to him when you seek him out in humble prayer that you will feel a power come into your life and that will be life changing it will be something that you can only describe as a warm feel of comfort and peace. God loves you so he gave us His only begotten son even Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Colin Darcy
This is a really good question why do "mormons" or members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints go away for 18-24 months to go and teach people about God and Jesus Christ? This is a very good question with an even better answer. Lets first go back in time and look through the Holy Bible. Lets think about what we would have in the Bible what teachings and writings we would have if the early prophets and apostles didn`t go and teach people about Christ? or in other words if they didn`t proselyte? Then most of the Bible wouldn`t exist! We wouldn`t have the amazing teachings of Jesus Christ in our lives, we wouldn`t be able to accept Jesus Christ into our lives and live his teachings because we would not know what they are! So quite simply if the early followers of Christ didn`t go out and teach about Christ then we wouldn`t know who he is today and for that same reason members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints still go out and teach about Jesus Christ, The Holy Bible, The Book of Mormon and The Prophet Joseph Smith so that the world can know of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been resorted to the earth by a living prophet who wouldn`t want to know and partake in such a wonderful message? In closing this is not just something that we have taken unto ourselves to do Christ himself said in St. Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" Show more Show less
