Hi I'm Raeleigh

I'm a college student studying mechanical engineering and preparing to serve a mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, besides the year my family lived in Atlanta, Georgia. I go to the university and study mechanical engineering. I want to design roller coasters or prosthetics, I haven't decided yet! When I have free time, I love spending it with my friends and family. I also enjoy reading, crafting, photography, and music. I'm a very nostalgic person so I love old movies (especially Singin' in the Rain) and old photos and old jazz music. I love to travel, and I look forward to traveling for the rest of my life! If I wasn't an engineer, I'd be a photojournalist and take photos of every temple in the world. I have two little brothers who are great examples to me. One of my favorite quotes is by Ralph Waldo Emerson and goes something like, "Never lose an opportunity to see something beautiful, for beauty is God's handwriting".

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and when I was about ten I had several great-grandparents pass away. It was difficult for me, but I was so grateful for the knowledge I had that I would see those family members again someday. Ever since then I have had many experiences that have built my testimony in this gospel. I have felt the Holy Ghost testify of its truth and I'm very grateful. Whenever I've had a question about whether a doctrine or commandment is true, all I've had to do is live it and Heavenly Father has shown me the truth of the doctrine. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints truly is Christ's church restored on the earth. I know living the principles of the gospel will bring me the most happiness in this life. We have a Heavenly Father who loves us more than we can imagine, and He has a plan for all of us. He sent His Son to suffer and die for us so that we can repent, change, have joy, and eventually return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and our families for eternity. Being a Mormon gives me purpose and guidance in my life, but more importantly it gives me hope and joy!

How I live my faith

I do my best to set a good example in all my activities. I go to school with many people not of my faith, and I try to make it a priority to be honest and friendly to everyone I meet. I live my faith be doing the little things like prayer and scripture study each day. I have served in my student wards in the mingles committee and the communications committee, both of which forced me out of my comfort zone to 'mingle' and meet new people. I'm also living my faith by preparing to serve a mission. I love this gospel and I'm excited to share it with as many people as I can!
