Hi I'm Sarah

I'm visually impaired. I enjoy life and music. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love playing my own songs on the piano and enjoy the power that music has played in my life. I love nature, chocolate, family, children, and laughter. I desire to work with children with and without special needs as a career. I know I have a purpose and I know the Lord is aware of me and loves me. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and the light it brings to my life. I found out I was diagnosed with Stargardts Disease (an eye disease) soon before I turned 18. This shocking and unexpected news changed my life and how I viewed things. Being visually impaired has not stopped me from enjoying life because i know I have a purpose and I know that I can bless others because of my experiences. Soon after this shocking news, I feared my future, but now my future is filled with hope, joy, and light because I know who I am and I know the Lord knows me. The knowledge that I am a child of God who loves me keeps me moving forward. I decided to make the most out of life and be grateful for what I have instead of what I don't have. I know that my weaknesses don't define me and that seeing is not everything: there is more to life than seeing. We have the power to choose happiness in our own life despite our challenges or weaknesses.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found peace, hope, joy, comfort, purpose, and love from the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that this Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and can change someone's life if they allow it. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World and loves us very much. The gospel brings great purpose to my life and helps me follow Christ's example. God helps me see how I can become. Religion changes the way I live my life everyday and influences the choices I make. I know that the Lord lives and loves me as an individual. He has answered my prayers many times and I know that only through Christ we can be saved. I know the Lord can communicate with me through scripture study, payer, prophets and music. I know that with God's help anything is possible. Our challenges and struggles can make us better people if we allow them to. I know the Lord will place people in our lives that will be answers to our prayers. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gives me fulfillment, purpose, joy, and hope for a better future. The Lord watches over all His children on earth. We all can be happy, but we must choose to be happy and see the good in the world!

How I live my faith

I am preparing to serve as an LDS missionary and leave in May 2013!. I pray and study scriptures everyday, attend the temple regular;y, and strive to find opportunities to serve others around me in small ways. I study the words of the leaders of the church and I strive everyday to live a better life then the day before. I try to enrich my life in goodness which uplifts and encourages me.
