Hi I'm Amelia

I'm a student at Utah State University. I love music, outdoors, and being with people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

About me? I just love life. I love trying new things, like making pirate ships out of snow, giant ducks out of popcorn, and learning new instruments. I love the world, and how beautiful it is. I love playing outside. I love music. I'm a student, studying English, so I obviously love to read, too. I also love the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the peace it brings. I'm so thankful for how blessed I am.

Why I am a Mormon

When I read the Book of Mormon, I feel closer to God. That book has taught me that "men are that they might have joy," and that we have a merciful Father in Heaven who loves us and truly wants our happiness. To know that there is an all-knowing being watching over me and my family has brought me great peace. By acting on the principles I found in the Book of Mormon, I have come closer to Christ, and now I can testify of the truthfulness of that book through my own personal experiences, not just the words of others. I have learned that Jesus Christ is my brother, and He loves me. He fought a real battle for my happiness, even dying for me, and He won. And he did that for all of us. I can't comprehend a love so great, but I can begin to understand the love He has for me. As I begin to understand that love, I learn to trust Him and obey His word. I also learn to share that love with others. Learning of this gospel and living it has brought me joy. It has taught me how to be happy, and that is what life is all about.

How I live my faith

The ward is like a family, and I'm learning how to take care of everyone in my ward family. I'm a compassionate service leader in my ward, so I have the opportunity to look out for people in need of comfort and try to help them with their needs. I have learned that serving others brings true joy; helping people is what life is all about. It has taught me that the Lord is mindful of everyone, and He will meet the needs of those that ask him.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Amelia
Faith is hope for things not seen. James taught that faith without works is dead. This means that in order for our faith to grow, we have to take action. We must actively keep the commandments of God. If you do that, and study the scriptures to learn of Him, your faith will increase and you will know that He is your Savior. Show more Show less
