Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a musician. I'm a daughter, sister and a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student and a musician. My passion is violin but I also love to play the piano, cello, organ, and a few others! I love running, biking, and playing sports and as often as possible I am doing outdoorsy things like camping, canoeing, and rappelling. If I'm not outside or practicing instruments, I'm often found with my cat and a good book!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know of the truth of the Gospel. I know that God loves me and you. He knows each of us by name and wants to help us with everything we go through in life. Because He loves us so much and wants us to return to live with Him, He has given us so many things to help us! We have our families and a prophet living today and scriptures that we can study daily. We can pray to Him and ask questions or ask for help and He answers our prayers! He also sent his son, Jesus Christ, who did so much for all of us. Christ suffered for us and He knows what we individually struggle with every day. He is the only one who can help us improve and progress and because of the Atonement each of us has the opportunity to be forgiven of our sins and mistakes and to return to live with our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I strive to be able to feel the Holy Spirit no matter what I'm doing. I love to start and end my day with prayer and pray as often as possible throughout the day. I try to know what God wants me to do each day and how I can serve others. Right now I'm also living my faith by serving a mission in the California Irvine Mission! I love being able to share what I know with everyone I talk to and see it bless their lives and their families just like it has blessed mine! Best of all, I use my music to live my faith. I play the piano and organ at church frequently. I love playing at nursing homes and wherever else I can. Using piano and violin, I have an opportunity to share my own feelings with others. It is an incredible experience to play a song at church and have the Spirit testify of the truth of the Gospel to everyone who listens. I love using music to invite the Spirit into my life :)

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Amanda
Our families are the people that we grow closest to in life and they are the ones who love us unconditionally. They can provide us with strength and support. They will be with us for eternity! Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Amanda
We try to live like Christ would. He is the perfect example and role model and so it is important when you consider yourself Christian to live like Christ would if he were in your shoes. Show more Show less
