Hi I'm Tyler

I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm a musician. I'm a son and a brother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have three brothers and am the oldest of all of them. I'm currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in the Alaska Anchorage mission. Before the mission, I was a college student studying Aerospace Engineering; it is my hope to return and finish the program I started once I am finished with my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of His church because I feel and know that it is true. In the scriptures, we are commanded to pray with sincerety to know if the scriptures are true, and if this Church is truly the restored church of Jesus Christ. I remember the night that I asked; I prayed with true intent, desiring to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the restored church. I felt the Holy Ghost bear testimony to me immediately that it is. I cannot deny what I felt that day, so that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Before my mission, I participated in our volunteer church choir, and in the young men's program of the Church. Participating in church choir and in the young men's program of the Church helps me live my faith by constantly turning my thoughts to Christ through music and activities. Currently, I am a missionary for the Church. Serving a mission has been a big teaching experience for me; it teaches me that I need to have faith and that I will be guided in where I need to be.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the authority of God given to man to act in His name. This priesthood is given to those that are worthy to receive it, and can be used to lead the Church, perform certain ordinances, and bless the sick. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. You may notice in the footnote sometimes there is JST, Joseph Smith Translations, for parts of the Bible that weren't translated correctly. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Grace is extremely important. It is by grace that we will all be resurrected, and be able to come back into God's presence to be judged; however, it is not just by grace that we are saved. We must also show our willingness to obey God by being obedient to and making covenants with Him. We will fall short at times, but this is why we are also commanded to repent when we do. It is by grace that we can be resurrected and return to God's presence, but it is by obedience to God that we will be able to remain in His presence.
