Hi I'm Bryce Garrett

I'm a Buckeye. I love to read and write. I'm a nerd, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Ohio, the heart of the Midwest, and am an Ohio State Buckeye through and through! Ever since I was a little kid I loved to read everything-from the newspaper to textbooks to novels to advertisements to comic books to poetry! I also listen to a lot of music and love to sing and dance... no, really. Mostly, I like doing those things because I can do them with my family, and that has always been something very important to me. We watch movies together, sing silly songs together, and if I can get them to sit down long enough, we even read comic books together. I am a Lego fanatic and have the minifigures from almost every set I ever built with my brother growing up.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for some very simple reasons. My parents were taught by some awesome missionaries in the past, and they have spared no pains in teaching me and my siblings how to live good, Christian values. But for a long time, I wasn't really sure why I attended Church, or why our family did things differently than a lot of those around us. It wasn't until I was on my own at college that I really had to ask myself if all these things made sense. And during the time that I searched I came to realize that everything I had learned growing up blessed me in ways I can barely even describe, let alone understand. Really, I'm a Mormon because I can feel the love of God every time I go to Church, read the scriptures, or pray to Him for guidance.

How I live my faith

I got very involved in a service organization through my high school that did everything from plant trees to recycle bottles to set up a senior citizen prom... that was a blast! We spent many a hot sweaty afternoon (or bone-chilling evening) doing our best to reach out to others. In the congregation I attend I often have the opportunity to teach classes to new and returning members, which is amazing. It's a great feeling to help others understand how to better follow Jesus Christ and serve each other.

In whom should we have faith?

Bryce Garrett
Faith is a powerful principle of the Gospel. Having faith means to believe in something strongly enough that we are willing to act upon that belief. In order to receive all the blessings that God has in store for us, our belief must be centered in Jesus Christ, and our actions patterned after the way that He lived. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Bryce Garrett
Faith in Jesus Christ grows as we do the things that He has asked us to. Read the scriptures, attend church, pray, ask for His help in facing our daily challenges of life, striving to follow His teachings and keep the commandments; all of this helps us to grow our faith, and to know God more personally.
