Hi I'm Madison

I am a big sister, a college student, and a hope-to-be History Teacher.

About Me

I am the oldest of 4 kids, and family is most important to me. Right now, I am going to college; studying Teaching Social Science, with a minor in English. I love reading, water skiing, camping, and baking. I also love decorating. Decorating for Holidays, Birthdays, or my room.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Latter Day Saint, and still continue to live it and know it with all my heart. The leaders of this church have asked me as a member to live a certain way. They have asked that I live a chaste life, a life without alcohol or tobacco, and that I live an honest life, full of integrity. I have come to know for myself that the my leaders are inspired and directed by our Heavenly Father. I know that my leaders will never ask me to do something that is wrong for me. I have been promised that as I live by the standards set by this church, I will have a life full of love, forgiveness, and have the strength to make it through trials I am faced with. And so far, I have tried my best to live the life expected of me by the Lord, and I have been abundantly blessed because of it. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I help out wherever I can. Whether it's with the babies, the kids, or the women, I've done it all! I love working with the children and their sweet spirits, and teaching them about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love taking part in the community, and serving those that live around me.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We most definitely do NOT worship the prophet Joseph Smith. He is the man who restored the church that was present on the Earth when Christ was here. We respect and revere him for his sacrifice for this church, but we do not worship him. He brought to us the truths of the gospel once again in these days. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

We accept and know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and our King. He is the Son of the living God. We worship and pray to Jesus Christ. He is the center of our faith, and you could probably guess that from our name: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. So, are we Christians? Absolutely, yes! Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

We believe that there needs to be proper authority to perform a baptism because we believe that things done with the Priesthood (or the authority) here on Earth by worthy church members is one and the same as if our Heavenly Father was to do it. By having the correct authority perform our baptism, we know that it is recognized by the Lord. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

The Church does not only help its own members, but also those claiming no religion, or completely other religions. Our church has been blessed to have the resources to be some of the first responders to many of the recent disasters. We do not only help when there is an international catastrophe, but we love to help and serve those in our communities that do not belong to our faith! Just let us know when you're having a baby, and we would love to bring you enough food to serve an entire county for a week! Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Women and men do not walk ahead or behind one another in this church. Yes, the Priesthood is only given to the men. But only the women can take part in a special organization called Relief Society. The purpose of Relief Society is to serve others in need, which is the same purpose of the Priesthood. Women are given a special place in this church, and it is sometimes overlooked or underrated. I have faith that the Lord and His servants know what is best for the men and women in this church. Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Do you remember in the old days when they would say "Sunday Best"? Well, we still believe in getting all dressed up for church! A shirt and tie for the boys, and a clean dress or skirt for the girls. We also love to celebrate Holidays. Some of my favorites are Christmas (the birth of Jesus Christ) and Easter (the Resurrection of Jesus Christ). I am from the United States and I do love to celebrate our national holidays like the 4th of July, too. Seeing the fireworks and having a barbecue is my favorite thing to do. Show more Show less
