Hi I'm Jessica

My name is Jessica. I love to serve and have been called to serve in Chile Santiago. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my associates degree and love being in college. I am apart of one of the top ten leadership programs in the nation. I am very involved in college and love to be apart of leadership positions that help to grow as a person and to be able to help others. I want to major in Business or Communications and with either be able to make a difference in other people's life. I love to play soccer, play sports and do anything that has to do with the outdoors. I play the drums and piano and love anything to do with music. I love to travel. I would love to travel the world one day. I love to meet people. I think one of the greatest blessings we have in this life is to have friends. I want to one day organize a non-profit organization to help an orphanage in Rosarito, Mexico. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a huge part of my life and I am so grateful for it that I want to share it with others. I will be serving a full time mission in Chile, Santiago. I

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Even though I was born into a family that were members of the church, my family as well as many others would often tell me that I must find out for myself. As I was younger I would attend church and different lessons that taught me more about this gospel. I could not help but love everything I heard. Each and every time I read the Book of Mormon I would feel closer to God and feel the gift of the Holy Ghost with me. As I read the book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true, I had a happy, peaceful, and wonderful feeling. It was if God had his arms around me to tell me how pleased he was of me. I know without a doubt that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. The experiences and witnesses of the truthfulness of this gospel have been manifested to me all the time. It all makes sense! It simply is what brings me the most happiness in this life. I KNOW with all of my heart that Jesus Christ lives. He loves me and he atoned for my sins so that I can make it back to live with Him again in His presence. I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and I love Him. I am so grateful for the countless blessings that I have recieved by striving to becoming better. I KNOW this gospel is the gospel of Jesus Christ. HE LIVES AND LOVES YOU!! I know this with all of my heart and soul!

How I live my faith

I love to participate when it comes to any church activities or callings in the church. I have had several different callings over the years. I have been a ward missionary which has blessed my life by sharing the gospel with other people. I was recently in charge of the activities in my young single adult ward. I would coordinate activities that would bring the people in the church closer together and to invite others who are investigating the church to have fun and feel welcome. I truly love going to church and being able to feel the love of our Savior as well as the love of the people at church. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has blessed my life forever. I have never been happier than I have now as I have followed Jesus Christs teachings and try each day to become like Him. I am so grateful for the organizations that have been established for this church to help us all become better every day.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Jessica
Mormon missionaries proselyte because they want to share the gospel with others. The gospel of Jesus Christ, the book of Mormon, the knowledge that God lives and loves us has changed their (my) life and they (I) want to share it with everyone they (I) possibly can. My entire life I have always wanted to serve a mission. My life has completely changed from living the gospel of Jesus Christ and I want others to have the pure and eternal joy that I have experienced. For example, when you tasted a new food which is delicious, have hiked to the prettiest mountain, or anything that has been so rewarding and happy. Do you not want to tell others about your experience, how you felt, or how delicious it was? I have tasted of the goodness and joy that comes from the words of the Book of Mormon, I have felt the Jesus Christs love and pure happiness when I follow Him, and I have experienced a change of heart as I have gone through this life trying to be the best person I can be. I want as many people as possible to feel this happiness, peace, love, and comfort that comes from our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and becoming more like them. Show more Show less

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

Jessica
As we hear on the news the many different tragedies that are happening in different parts of the world, it is easy to feel the desire to help. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we are able to do just that. Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Tornadoes, Floods, Hunger, etc. the church has been able to provide immediate and adequate needs to the area that is in need of help. We as church members donate through tithing so that the church is able to help others around the world. God has asked us to give 1/10 of our income to give back. Personally, Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Jessica
YES! A husband and wife, a mother and child, an entire family tree can be together forever!! I absolutely love my family and could not picture heaven without them there. I know that I will be able to live with my family after this life. I have been sealed to my family through the sacred ordinaces performed in the temple. This is a promise that my family made to God and he promises that we can live together as a family if we keep our promise with Him. Not only can we live with our family but if we follow Jesus Christ's example and make and keep our sacred covenants (promises) with God we can live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ as well! This knowledge has blessed my life and simply makes sense that God loves us enough to let us live after this life with our families. I know this to be true and I know that members of my family who have died are waiting in heaven to be reunited as an eternal family. I know that my family and others family can be together forever with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for this wonderful blessing! Show more Show less
