Hi I'm Kenzie

I love to cook, smile, and teach. I can't wait to get my teaching degree in family and consumer science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have such an enthusiasm for life! My childhood consisted of playing outside all year long, and imagining the world. In kindergarten I was diagnosed with dyslexia, though it presented much of a challenge when I was younger, I really do consider dyslexia to be a gift. As I grew older and entered my teenage year’s school become easy and more enjoyable every year. However, my life completely changed the summer before my senior year. My father was relocated for his job, which meant we had to move. My father worked at the Ogden Utah LDS temple but the Ogden temple was to be demolished and rebuilt. It was for this reason that my family moved so that my father could work at two different temples. Once we moved I didn’t know a single person. I felt so alone and often questioned why God would want my family to leave everything we loved behind to come to this lonely place. Thankfully things began to look up once I started school. At first it was hard but after meeting some wonderful people my senior year truly became my most memorable year. Through that experience I truly learned that God has a plan of each of us as individuals and once we can put our trust in Him. I currently attended Utah Valley University last semester and I am just working now in hope to save up enough money to help my parents pay for my LDS mission. I plan to serve starting the 27th of March. I can’t wait to see where life take me next!

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I KNOW it is the true church of our Father in Heaven. I have come to know this is true because I searched for the answer. I studied the Book of Mormon and asked questions. I attended church meeting with an intent to learn, and boy did I! I know that prayer is powerful and that if you want an answer and are willing to listen then Heavenly Father will give you that answer in many different ways. One way I have found that Heavenly Father answers my prayers are through feelings. Good things come from God and that includes happiness and I know when I am living the LDS standards I am the most happiest. I also have chosen to be a member because of the happiness it brings. Everything the church is centered on beings you true and pure joy. Never once was I upset or sad while following the beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Like I mentioned earlier I plan on serving a mission for my church and it is because of this happiness I have that I want to go serve! I know how much joy I get through this church and I want to help others feel the same happiness and I know it’s only possible through the true and complete gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

The church is wonderfully organized and a huge part of what we believe is centered around service. A lot of the things we participate in are things that help devote our time to those around us to better understand the love that our Heavenly Father has for them. Every member in our church is given a specific calling within the church at one point or another. For example I was asked to help teach lessons on Sunday to the women who attended my church. I loved this because I was able to watch as young adult girls my age realized how much Heavenly Father loved them. It also helped me to gain a better understanding in my savior. I also have decided to serve an LDS mission. I leave the 27th of March 2013. I will be gone for 18 months serving in a different state to help other people realize the importance of having the fullness of God’s church and help them to find out for themselves what Heavenly Father would like them to do in their lives.
