Hi I'm Bet

I grew up in a small farming community in southern Alberta, Canada. I love being the mother of 8 children.

About Me

I think my early roots influenced my life more than I realized when I was young. I have a great love for the nurture and care of growing things. It is manifest in my joy of gardening and my complete love and satisfaction of being a mother. My happiest moments have been spent growing relationships with friends and family in activities such as hiking, camping, bird watching, working in the garden, cooking together, work projects, community service and church activities. I love life.

Why I am a Mormon

From my earliest recollection I can remember feeling touched when I heard songs about Jesus. As I have matured and read and studied scriptures and have seen my prayers answered I have come to know that we do have a loving Heavenly Father and that His son Jesus Christ is our redeemer. We need to follow him and listen to his words. God revealed his words to prophets in days of old to help the people know how to be happy and that line of communication is again on the earth. We have a prophet that teaches us what we need to hear today. As we raised our children we tried to live and teach them the wonderful gospel teaching from the scriptures and from the prophets. We have seen our family blossom into successful adults who are now creating their own happy families.

How I live my faith

For the past three years I have had the opportunity to build friendship with with a group of young people ages 14-18 . We meet for an early morning Seminary class every week day morning at 7:00. We have studied the Old and New Testament and discussed the commandments of God and the teachings of his Son Jesus Christ, Then we talk about how we can apply these to our own lives and situations. We have learned together and I always come away from the class feeling uplifted and ready to have a good day. I love youth. They are the world's hope for the future. I am currently serving a mission with my husband in Belfast Northern Ireland. We work with the young Single adults and really enjoy our association with them. They are wonderful and show their faith in Jesus Christ by the way they live every day.
