Hi I'm Mary Handy

I'm from Idaho. I'm attending college to become a physical therapist & I recently married my best friend! I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm an Exercise Physiology major seeking to become a Physical Therapist. I'm married to a wonderful man! I enjoy doing crafts, hiking, and spending quality time with family. I'm a mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who believed in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (more commonly known as the mormon church). When I was 14, I wanted to know if the things I had been taught since birth were true. I decided it was time to read the Book of Mormon all the way through. When I finished, I followed "Moroni's Promise." This is found in the Book of Mormon= Moroni 10:3-5. The prophet Moroni tells those who read to pray about the things that were written to know if they are true. I prayed for weeks and received no answer. When I was reading a church article about someone who had a similar experience, the answer came to the author in his heart, "You already know." I read this and knew the same was true for me. I began to cry because of the overwhelming feeling and realization that came to me. I had always known it was true. I have never doubted the truth since. The Book of Mormon is a true document of the lives of America's native people and the principles taught are true principles from the mouth of His holy prophets.

How I live my faith

My husband and I teach the 14 and 15 year old youth every week at church. We enjoy getting to know these youth and helping them find answers to life's many questions. I make it a priority to visit 3 different women at least once a month and make sure their needs are cared for. I also help put together the monthly calendar and disperse it among the women that attend our church services. These consist of community events, opportunities to give service, and activities. I hope my values and beliefs of service spill into my everyday life. By continually living a life of kindness, goodness, charity, sweetness, patience, love, etc...I bring more joy into my life, bring happiness into others', and become more like Christ.
