Hi I'm Austin

I'm a swimmer. I'm a missionary. I'm a pianist. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a 20 year old young man from Price Utah, the oldest of 5 children, and the son of two wonderful loving parents! I sing, play piano, write music, swim, and hunt. During high school I was a lifeguard at our local pool and an assistant swim coach. After graduation, I studied for a short time at USU Eastern, and have been serving as a missionary for the Church in the California Fresno Mission since the beginning of 2013.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been raised a Mormon, I relied on the testimonies of my friends and families growing up. But, with each person, there comes a time in their own life where they have to find out that this is true for themselves. Though I believed that the Church was true all along, I remember the night I came to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was indeed the only true and living church upon the face of the Earth. In April, 2013, I was a missionary in a town near Modesto, California. I stood and testified before a man who, with insidious intention, challenged my testimony at the peril of my life. Just at this moment, the Holy Spirit bore crystal clear witness to me that this Church is indeed true, and that I could stand with confidence and testify before devils and men that Jesus is the Christ. Bearing testimony in the face of danger, and as we escaped into that dark night, the love of God swelled within my soul confirming to me that what I had said was true. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have seen the joy, the security, and the love that exists in the church, and in Jesus Christ. I have literally seen miracles worked before my eyes, and I know for a fact that Jesus Christ lives. He truly is the Savior of the world. He has come to bear up our burdens, our sins, our sadness, and to help make us happy, now and after this life. I know that Joseph Smith saw Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father, two separate beings, and that through him, they were able to restore the church that Christ established during his life here on Earth. I know that we have a prophet today who can guide us and receive revelation from God to help guide our lives. I also know that the Book of Mormon is a true record, and it can guide us through any trials that we may encounter. These things have blessed my life, and I know they can bless yours as well!

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to work with the missionaries on many, many occasions. It has been so fun to meet numerous people, to learn about them and what they believe, and to learn what they like to do. I am now serving in the California Fresno Mission. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve the people here and to develop long-lasting friendships. It is my desire to share with those that I will meet the things that make me happy and that bring joy to my soul.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Austin
Family is so important to Mormons because it is the center of all our life! Everything in the world was made for the family. The Gospel is for eternal families. The Atonement is for eternal families. Jesus Christ allows us to change our lives and be forgiven of our wrongs so that we can live with Him and Heavenly Father, with our families. The family is ordained of God, and is the most important mortal stewardship that we can be involved in during the course of this life. I find joy in my family, and I am so grateful for them!
