Hi I'm Ashli Munger

I'm from a small town in Idaho, I love to dance, run, and eat and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to run, dance, and play the piano. I'm currently serving as a full-time missionary in the Oregon Portland Mission. Before my mission, I attended Brigham Young University where I started studying Dietetics. In high school, I participated in the Distinguished Young Women (DYW) scholarship program - first locally and then at state. It was one of the best experiences I've had. I become friends with incredible girls all over Idaho, and I learned a lot about myself, life, and even the gospel. This experience increased my confidence and helped me understand my worth as a daughter of God. It strengthened my testimony of knowing that if something is important to me, then it's important to my Heavenly Father. It improved my understanding of the atonement - that Jesus Christ really did feel every pain that we can ever feel - physically and emotionally. I truly believe Heavenly Father wants us all to be "anxiously engaged" in a good cause. Whether it was sports, dancing, piano, family events, friend activities, school studies, or even work, I know that Heavenly Father has been involved in the many details of my life, and that as I've looked to Him in all I do, "all these things [have] been for [my] good."

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the comfort, joy, and peace it brings into my life. When I was 13, my mom passed away from cancer. With the comfort of the Holy Ghost, the experience was still hard, but at the same time easier than I could have ever imagined. The entire time, I just knew that everything was going to be okay. I know that families can be together forever, and I will see my mom again. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church. I choose to be Mormon because I know that I am a daughter of God, and this is what Heavenly Father wants me to do. Being involved in the church makes me feel good. It strengthens my confidence and the love that I have for other people. My involvement in the gospel helps me know who I am, who I want to become, and who I can become with the help of my Savior.

How I live my faith

Right now, I am serving a full-time mission. This means that for a year and a half, I give up friends, school, work, family, and other activities to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ full-time. I absolutely LOVE it! I know that this is where the Lord wants me to be. As a missionary, we spend the day talking to as many people as we can about Jesus Christ. We teach as many people as will listen. Sometimes it's intimidating to approach people and try to talk with them. That's why it's so important to forget ourselves and remember the importance of the message that we share. I know that the teachings of Jesus Christ have helped me through trials, helped me succeed, and given me true happiness with my family and friends - so of course, just like a good slice of cheesecake, I want to share this with others and let them experience the joy!
