Hi I'm Dawn

I'm a student, an athlete, and an adventurer. I'm a jokester, a foodie, and a book worm. Most importantly, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a pre-nursing student at BYU-Idaho and I absolutely love it there! Currently I am on break from school and living at home with my wonderful family in California because I am preparing to serve a full-time mission in New York. I am always up for an adventure, I am fluent in sarcasm, and I love my family and friends more than anything. I'm big into soccer and field hockey but I'm up to playing any sport really. I also have a strange obsession with dirtbikes, ferrero rocher, harry potter, flowers, climbing trees and the color taupe.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a loving home and my parents, who are both members, raised my family in the church. Though I have been learning about the gospel since I was born, I knew I couldn't rely on my parents testimonies to get me through life. At 14 I started to question whether or not I had a testimony of my own. I started to actually study my scriptures instead of just read them, I prayed with more sincerity, and I took the time to really ponder. That summer, after I had devoted much of my time to questioning whether or not I really believed, it dawned on me that there was no reason to doubt. I had been waiting all summer for a powerful experience to answer my prayers when all along, the spirit had been calming my thoughts and worries. There was no need to doubt because I did have my own testimony, I knew it for myself! Ever since that point I have been developing that testimony. Each time I pray, read my scriptures, or act upon a prompting, my testimony is strengthened and I am reminded of my Heavenly Father's constant watch and his everlasting love. I am Mormon because this gospel gives me direction, it helps me realize my purpose, and it fills my heart with joy.

How I live my faith

I try my best to follow God's commandments and teachings. Though at times it's awfully inconvenient, I try to serve whenever I have the chance. I try to be extra friendly and give people the benefit of the doubt. I try to be forgiving as well as accepting. I live my faith by trying to ease the burdens of others as I help them find true happiness.
