Hi I'm Arita

I grew up in Washington, studied viola performance at BYU-I, am currently serving a mission in upstate New York, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Arita. I am very close to my family, especially my parents and three older sisters. I grew up in Washington State and was homeschooled until I began college at 16. While growing up I spent many hours outside enjoying nature and the outdoors. This has caused me to develop a deep love for nature. I specially enjoy bird watching. I have been a member of the LDS church my entire life. Everything good in my life has come from being a member of the church and I know that it has led me to becoming who I am meant to be. When I was nine years old I began taking violin lessons. Many years and hours of practicing led me to becoming a viola performance major at BYU-Idaho. Music blesses my life and reminds me of the beauty that is found in the world. I wish to share this blessing with others through performing and teaching. I plan on obtaining my masters degree in viola performance and then opening a music studio after I return from serving as a missionary in upstate New York. I love being a missionary and sharing the gospel with others. I know that life is beautiful and I feel blessed for every day that I have to live it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that it is Jesus Christ’s restored gospel here on earth. I was born to a Mormon family and have had the blessing of the gospel throughout my entire life. I know that the blessed restored truths of the gospel are a light to guide me through the darkness that exists in this world. Without it, I would be without my anchor, who is Jesus Christ. I know that He lives and that He loves us and I feel His love strongly when I follow His teachings and keep the covenants that I have made in His restored church. I am a Mormon because I know that being a Mormon is what keeps me safe, protected, and close to Jesus Christ and my Father in Heaven here on this earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to do all that my Father in Heaven asks me to do. Every week I attend church and do my best to help out in my church unit. Because of my love for and abilities with music I am often called to serve as a pianist, organist, or music leader. These callings bless me and others because they allow me to help others feel God's spirit through music. I am currently serving as a missionary in the Utica, New York Mission. Serving a mission means that I have left my home and family for 18 months and dedicated that time to the Lord. I love serving and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with my fellow brothers and sisters in New York.
