Hi I'm Matthew Becar

I'm a young Man from Colorado. I am a high jumper, a student, and I am going to serve a mission in Berlin! I am a Mormon

About Me

I am a young man that has many different interests. I love to play sports! Every since i was a kid i was involved in some kind of sport. My best sport is the High jump. I hope to High jump for BYU when i return from a mission. High jumping is the way I deal with the world. Some people dance or practice art, I love to jump. I am currently a student of BYU-Idaho. It is a wonderful place! I feel that it is the best possible place to go to prepare for a mission. The spirit on that campus cannot be compared to any other university including BYU. The university truly is lead by God. BYU-I is also really really fun! I would recommend it to anyone. I am so excited to go spread the good news to the world!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because i know this church is true. When I was a young boy I went to church but I was relying on the testimony of others. I wanted to know if I was wasting 3 hours every Sunday. I wanted to know why we had to go to meetings and why we had to pray and read scriptures. I prayed to my heavenly father to know if this was true. I know that there is modern day revelation! I have received my answer. I know this church is true. My testimony has not come all at once. It has taken years to gain my testimony and it is ever growing. I may not understand everything about the church, or be the best member but I know that it is true. This church has blessed my life with guidance and comfort. I have found true happiness. There is no greater joy in this world. I am a member because this church gives me hope that someday I will be able to life with my family, and my future family for forever. Jesus is the Christ, I know it. And that is enough for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the small things every day that are asked of us. Reading your scriptures and praying is so simple but can fill your life with such strength. If you commit yourself to study you will grow. As with many things in our life living our faith is not easy. It is downright hard and it is easy to get discouraged. I know that as I lean on my savior that he will make my burdens light. It will not be easy but it will be possible. I try to lean on the steadfast shoulder of Christ and head the spirit to guide my life. I have served in a few callings in the church. My favorite has been to be able to work with the little children of our ward. I have served in primary as well as nursery. I love the children. Children speak with such humility and I learn so much from them. Alma 32: 23 is a scripture that I love as I work with the children and as a young man am going to be a missionary. "Little children do have words given to them many times, which do confound the wise and the learned" As I listen to the spirit i have knowledge and inspiration given unto me. I live my life will faith that Jesus is the Chris, my redeemer, and I will be able to live with my God again.
