Hi I'm Drew

I'm the second of five kids, I love sports. I play volleyball for my college and I am a Mormon!:)

About Me

My name is Drew and I absolutely love sports, especially volleyball! I play for the mens' team at my college. In high school I played football and lettered my Junior and Senior year. I am extremely unlucky as far as being very injury prone!! I've had everything from my thumb snapped off to a tumor in my hip!I also played volleyball and ran track. I was on the honor roll every year and hope squad, a group we have to prevent suicides at our school. I also had the opportunity to serve as a Student Body Officer my Senior year. I have three brothers and one cute little sister who tends to be spoiled rotten!;DI love people, and getting to know them. I love to wake-board and play the ukelele and listen to music. My favorite music artist is Olly Murs, that guy's the bomb! If I could go anywhere in the world, I would absolutely go to Italy!!! I am an eagle scout and a black belt. My favorite thing to do besides volleyball, basketball, or football would have to be wrestling my siblings and watching movies as a family. Every Sunday and Saturday night we stay up late and watch movies together and play Ticket to Ride a super fun board game. My best friend in the entire world is my big brother an I am going to join him in serving a mission for my church and for my father in heaven.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because despite my wishes I am imperfect! In order for us to return to our father in heaven's presence, god, we must become clean from sin and someone had to overcome death for all humanity. Jesus Christ volunteered to suffer and die for my sins and for everyone's so that I can overcome death. I am a Mormon because I love my family and want to be with them forever. I am a Mormon because through the lord Jesus Christ I can receive strength in every struggle, because he suffered every pain I experience so that he can know how to comfort me. That is so beautiful to me, to think that a perfect being, Christ, would condescend to suffer every pain imaginable so that I can choose whether or not to come back to live with him and our heavenly father again. I am a Mormon because as we read in 1 Nephi 3:7 in every trial I experience I can gain a proper perspective that helps me understand that god gave us all trials because he knows we can overcome it, and despite what we may think, if we respond to these trials the way he would want us to, we can become the best person we be. We may not become that person on earth, but if we show god that we are willing to come before him in prayer in complete humility and having done our best on earth, we will be able to enter into his Kingdom and live in joy with those we love forever! I am a member of this church because I know that the joy I experience now can be FOREVER! I have gained a testimony that god saw fit to restore his church true the prophet Joseph Smith in our time. I know that despite the fact Joseph Smith was human and made mistakes like you and me, he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. This shows that god lives and put his gospel on earth. Think about a time when you left your family, whether it was a camp or anything like that. What was it like seeing them again? Now times that by infinity! That's what it will be like seeing our Heavenly Father again. A dad with a perfect love he is eager to see you and me!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by setting aside the time for serving others. Jesus Christ's whole life was dedicated to serving and as a representative of him as a member of his church I try to do my best to reach out to others who need a helping hand. Another way I live my faith is by setting aside 10-30 minutes every day for reading my scriptures. Specifically the Book of Mormon, god has given me the tools to have his guidance through reading instances in the past that reflect crucial lessons I can learn from that show that trusting in god all things are possible. I also am showing the lord my faith by serving a full-time mission for the next two years of my life. I feel there is nothing better way for me to show my gratitude for the fortunate circumstances in life I have been blessed with than to devote two years of my life teaching others about the joy I experience everyday knowing that I can live with my family forever. Another way I live my faith is by paying ten percent of all my income to contribute for tithing for the church. By living by faith, I grow to be more than I ever could be without the church and I also set myself up for more blessings.
