Hi I'm Jacquelyn

I'm a stay at home wife and mother of seven. I love gardening, the out doors, sewing, and helping others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest girl in a family of seven children, a wife of 27 years and mother of 3 adults, 3 teenagers, and a little 3 year old. We have 2 cats and 15 chickens. I love being outside and working in the garden, sewing, learning new things, and spending time with my family. I play the piano and enjoy drawing and painting, although cooking and laundry seem to take much of my time right now! Favorite books are Les Miserables, The Book Thief, The Wednesday Wars, The Book Of Mormon, The Hobbit, and about a million others. My family loves to play games, listen to music, and bake cookies on Sunday nights. I bake my own bread, can fruit and vegetables, and hang all the laundry outside on a clothesline in the summertime. I grew up in Wyoming and spent all the time I could on my grandparents farm, which is still one of my favorite places on earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who are active members of the church, and so I have been an active member my whole life. I have learned through many personal difficulties to rely on my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I can't imagine living without the knowledge that I am a child of God and that he loves me. This knowledge influences every part of my life. I believe that we are all His children and that someday we can be reunited with our own families in the eternities. I am grateful that I can pray to Him and that He has given us the Plan of Salvation so that we can know how to return to Him. Above all else, I know these things are true.

How I live my faith

I am on the Cub Scout Committee in my neighborhood, and I play the piano for our women's class on Sundays and any time I am needed. I am a visiting teacher to 4 women, and love talking and sharing a message with them each month. I attend sessions in the Mount Timpanogos Temple with my husband once a month, but have a goal this year to go more often. I have a very sweet and faithful Jehovah's Witness friend that visits me every other month, and I enjoy hearing her message and sharing my own testimony of Jesus Christ with her. I love to help the people around me, and I serve my neighbors whenever I can.
