Hi I'm Spencer Landon

I am from Utah, USA. I'm a musician, a guitarist, a songwriter, a disciple of Christ, a Missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I had the chance to be born into a faithful LDS family. My favorite scripture is Alma 7:11-13. It is such an excellent scripture about Christ and His Atonement. I am currently serving my 2 year LDS mission in the Arizona Tucson Mission. I left for my mission on November 20th, 2013. I am really excited to bring the restored gospel to the people of Arizona, and to serve God's children. I have had many trials in my life, and have always found guidance, peace, and comfort in the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love this Church, and I have a firm testimony of it's teachings. I love music and working with my hands. I enjoy playing Lacrosse, going scuba diving, and doing other outdoor activities. I like being the person that someone can talk to and express their feelings to, it's one way that I serve others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon faith, but there was a time that I questioned it's teachings. I have since gotten past that and I know, with all my being, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true and restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I know that God has called a prophet to guide His church. I know that Christ suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and died upon the cross so that I may live with my Heavenly Father again. I love this Church and can't imagine my life without it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching others about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm also a Home Teacher and share lessons to an amazing family. I enjoy sharing things that I learned from different verses in the Holy Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. I will be serving a Mission from November 2013-November 2015, in the Arizona Tucson Mission.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Spencer Landon
Tithing is giving back tenth of what God has given to you, in order to build God's kingdom here on Earth. For example, it goes to building Temples, Church Meetinghouses, and other Church buildings. It also goes to Church materials, and many more Church related things. Tithing is important to God's Kingdom on Earth. Tithing is also not a suggestion, but rather a commandment from God, and we are promised, as with all commandments, that if we obey the commandments from God, that we will be blessed. How can I know Mormonism is true?

Spencer Landon
Sincerely pray to Heavenly Father, and ask if the things that you are reading or learning are true. God answers prayers in His own time, or when He deems necessary. Do not get discouraged if you do not get a answer to your prayer immediately, as God answers all prayers in His own time. God always answers your prayers, and in various ways. But all prayers are answered through the Holy Ghost. Any good feelings you have while listening to the teaching Gospel, or while reading the scriptures, is the Holy Ghost confirming that what you are hearing, or reading, is true. Show more Show less

Spencer Landon
Missionaries fund their mission with their own money. Missions are a volunteer service to God, the Savior Jesus Christ, and all of God's children. Missionaries also do not get paid to go on missions. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Spencer Landon
Just like the Book of Mormon, the Bible is a Testament of Jesus Christ. The Bible contains many valuable teachings, it provides us with an account of ancient prophets of God, revelations given to prophets, including revelations of the last days before the Second Coming of Christ. The Bible is also important because without it, the Book of Mormon would have no "support" Both the Bible and Book of Mormon support one another, they tell the accounts of 2 different lands, Ancient Israel and the Americas, before, during, and after, Christ's Ministry on the Earth.
