Hi I'm Whitney Johnson

I'm a crazy redhead! I love FUN! I'm a Mormon!!!

About Me

I love the outdoors. Nature always makes me think of God. I love pretty much any animal! But mostly marine mammals are my favorite. I want to be a marine biologist! I'm a college student but I'm leaving for a mission this year! When I'm with my friends I forget everything and just have fun and laugh all the time.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents divorced when I was eight and my best friends dad became my second dad. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2003 and died January 2, 2005. What I remember of him is that he told me he loved me. For awhile after his death I hated God. I thought why would he take this amazing father and faithful member of the Church? I was about 10 when one day it just hit me...I will see him again. Because of Heavenly Father's plan I will see everyone again someday. That was the starting point to my testimony which has grown so much over the years because of the trials and blessings I've had in my life. Why am I a Mormon? Because I've prayed to my Father in Heaven and have felt the Spirit that this church is true. I've had many trials and hardships come into my life and they have knocked me down so many times and the only reason I've gotten back up is because the Savior lifted me. The scripture that has helped me is Doctrine and Covenants 122: 7, the last line is "know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good." I have faith in my Heavenly Father and I know that he has never and will never abandon me. We might feel alone at times but I know that we are never alone. Our Father and Savior are constantly with us helping us. I know that faith works miracles I've seen it and have had it happen to me. I love my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I'm on a committee that plans activities for Monday evenings for the young single adults ward. This is probably the greatest calling ever because we all get together and eat food, chat, and talk about what would be super fun for everyone to do! On Monday nights I show up early to help setup everything for the activity we are going to do and then everyone starts to pile in. It's awesome when a ton of people show up and are engaging in conversation and enjoying themselves. It makes planning more enjoyable!
