Hi I'm Mateo

I am a Public Health major and a community volunteer. I'm a runner, a cyclist, and a saxophonist. I'm happy to say, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently on a mission in California, Roseville. Previously, I was attending college at Westminster College. I was on the cross country team there. Also, I am a Public Health major. I enjoy volunteering for my community. So, I hope one day I will be able to help people as a career. I was born in Utah. I grew up in Arizona. I am the second oldest in my family of four children. My family was inactive growing up, so I didn't have a solid religious background. Some of my hobbies include running, cycling, and trying new things . I hope one day to be able to do marathons. I also aspire to play the violin.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know what it's like to not have the light of Christ in your life. My family was inactive most of my life. I had no religious foundation when I was growing up. My family has always felt like it was missing something. I remember going into my Grandmother's house. It felt so peaceful and comfortable. I then realized, what my family was missing. The Spirit is in the home when we live the principles of the Gospel. Family is the most important thing our Heavenly Father has blessed us with and this Gospel blesses the family. I started to go back to church when I moved to Utah. I had no understanding of the blessing that we can receive from living the Gospel. I know now that this is the restored Gospel. I know that the the Savior lives and His Atonement can help us overcome anything. He knows us so perfectly and loves us so much. I love this Gospel. I love the happiness it brings me and my family.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by growing in the Gospel. I try everyday to learn more and live the Gospel. It is such a blessing to be able to serve the Lord. Being a missionary has helped me so much. I have seen so many blessing of the Gospel from teaching it to the people that I care for. The experience of learning precious truths, is a blessing all in it's own. I enjoy helping people see the light at the end of the tunnel. I share the experiences/struggles I have had. It helps me grow to love the people and the Gospel even more. I hope one day to help other people with the same struggles and help them find true happiness.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

To find answers, we ask questions! To find out if Mormonism is true is, find out for yourself! Be taught the principles of the Gospel and ask Heavenly Father if it is true. Sincerely pray, ask Him, study the Word, and prepare to listen for an answer. He will answer you. And when He does, act upon the answer you get!
