Hi I'm Kelsey

I grew up on a farm in Idaho! I am 21 years old and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated in 2010. I have attended 4 semesters at a university! My major is exercise physiology, because exercise is my life! I love it. My hobbies include cheerleading, swimming, snowboarding, I recently started dirtbiking, competitive ultimate frisbee, and just having fun!

Why I am a Mormon

All growing up my family went to church every Sunday. I Never really doubted that it was true, but I also felt that I had not had my own confirmation that it was true. People in my ward would get up and bear their testimonies boldly saying, "I know this is true." I never felt like I could say that for certain. When I got to high school I started seminary, which is a class where we study the gospel through the Bible, The Book of Mormon, The Pearl of Great Price, and The Doctrine and Covenants. The first two years I did not take it very seriously, but the last two years I really got into it. I was paying attention, and I had a true desire to learn. The spirit was so strong every day. It is the best feeling that I have ever felt. One day in class we were going through the lesson, and I can't tell you exactly what we were talking about, but so clear and so distinct in my mind came the words "This is TRUE." I was overwhelmed with the spirit. I had just been listening to the lesson and out of nowhere came this overpowering feeling that THIS IS TRUE. I know that the gospel is true and I cannot deny that feeling. The gospel is such a blessing to my life, and to my families life! The gospel provides a way for our families to be together forever, and I want to be with my family forever because I love them! I am also preparing to serve a mission for the church. I will serve 18 months in New York to share the gospel with others. I want others to have the amazing blessings of the gospel. I love the quote if you love something you will want to share it, and that is why I want to share the gospel. I love it, and I want others to have it. I want to give others the opportunity to come unto Christ and be with their families forever.

How I live my faith

I love going to church and participating in discussions. At 19 years old I was the President over the young women in my ward. I really enjoyed this calling, because I got to know every girl that I was over pretty well. I taught and participated in lessons that would help uplift and strengthen the young women. My counselors and I also planned activities for our young women to do outside of church. One morning we all woke up and made breakfast together. WIth thirty girls it was quite the event, but it was a time where we could bond and become closer as a group. I have also gone visiting teaching, which is where you and another sister go and visit other women in your ward. When we go visiting teaching we take a little message about the gospel and then we just visit with those women and encourage them or see if they need help with anything. I love visiting teaching, because it helps you to go out and make friends, and it also builds stong friendships because you really come to love the girls that you go and visit.

What is faith?

Faith is hope for things that you cannot see, which are true. Faith is like doing the trust fall. You cannot see the person standing behind you, but you sure hope they will catch you! Faith requires ACTION! You have hope they will catch you, so you act. You take a chance and fall backwards. They catch you, just as Heavenly Father promises to bless us if we act in Faith! :] Show more Show less
