Hi I'm Terri Barnes

I am a physical therapist. I have taught hippotherapy around the world. I love being a mom. I've a Mormon.

About Me

I love working with children, and I'm currently working as a physical therapist in the local school district. I grew up on a ranch and have always loved horses. I have had the opportunity to combine these two passions doing hippotherapy for the past 30 years. My husband and I have adopted two beautiful girls that are now teenagers.

Why I am a Mormon

I was working for an LDS family training their race horses. They invited me to meet with the missionaries and take the lessons. I told them that I would love to learn more about their church as long as the missionaries understood that I would never join. As I took the lessons from them, I began to attend church. My friends and family were worried that I was making a terrible mistake, but when I prayed about it, I felt the Spirit. When I read the Book of Mormon I knew it was true. I soon got baptized. At my baptism, I felt so happy! I couldn't stop laughing after being baptized because I knew it was the right choice. I had a hard time believing in Joseph Smith, at first. I had a testimony of the church because the Book of Mormon had so much power. It wasn't until about a year after my baptism that I knew Joseph Smith was a prophet. I now have a strong testimony that this church is true. It has changed my life.

How I live my faith

I really strive to live my faith by showing love to others. The principle of love is really important in our faith, and I try to show that love to everyone around me. I enjoy participating in fund raisers for charity. I have helped raise money for victims of leukemia and other causes around the community.
