Hi I'm Elder Brett Joseph Ray

I am a missionary, I love sports, I love helping people, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have so much love for the church! I love sports so much, I play 'em all. Right now I'm serving a mission in Ciudad Juarez, I know this church is true, and I am here to help people receive the message of a restored Gospel. I'm excited for my mission, further education and starting an eternal family!

Why I am a Mormon

Honestly I am a Mormon because my family is Mormon. I was born in the church, and how lucky I am to know the truthfulness of the gospel at such a young age. At times I wish I was a convert just so I can see how it feels to find something so great, but it is a great feeling getting more and more converted each and every day. A better question is why am I a Missionary? I absolutely love to see the change of lives of the people here on the mission it is a feeling that can not be described, the truth of D&C 18 is a beautiful feeling, also in Mosiah 28:3 they are some of my favorite scriptures out there. They motivate me each and every day. "The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best is now!"

How I live my faith

I was reading in the ensign today right before I create this account and I saw the coolest quote ever that applies so perfectly to this topic. "Preach the gospel at all times and if necessary, use words." - St. Francis Doing service and smiling so much is the best way to live my faith, but following the commandments are key too. I was called to serve a mission, what is the key point to serving a mission? Although the doctrine is important, and baptisms are important also, but the most important things of all is to have truly convert persons into the church. The only, only way you will have truly converted converts is by making them fell, actually KNOW this gospel will change their lives and actually make them happy. I am blessed with a father and mother who taught me to live the gospel at all times, and I have the qualities of each of them as I teach a language I hardly know, (spanish), I have a tender heart from my mom, I usually cry in the lessions, but I am frank with everyone and I definitely got that from my dad, but it's only because I love these people, that's a key I learned in the mission, love everyone and make sure they know you love them! I love the mission and I am a discipline of Jesus Christ the son of God I have been called to declare his word among his people so that they can have eternal life. 3Nephi 5:13 (more or less because I know it better in Spanish than English haha

What is the First Vision?

Elder Brett Joseph Ray
"Vi una columna de luz, más brillante que el sol. Directamente arriba de mi cabeza, y esta luz descendió hasta descensar sobre mi. Al reposar sobre mi, la luz. Vi en el airre arriba de mi, a dos personaje cuyo fulgor y gloría no admitten descripición, una de ellos me habló llamandome por mi nombre y dijo senaldado al otro, "Este es mi Hijo Amado, Eschuchalo." This was the first thing I learned by memory in my missionary in Spanish. The first Vision is a beautiful story, a true story. Joseph Smith had questions, questions that were eternal and searched for answers, the best way to search, directly from God. He went to a grove of trues and prayed to his Father in heaven, and received an answer. He saw God and Jesus Christ, when I think of this story I get tears in my eyes, because it gives me hope. Especially knowing that a youth of 14 years old could receive an answer, why couldn't I receive one also? The answer is I can, and I did, and everyone else can also. Everyone can know this is the truth restored church of Jesus Christ because it is, pray and you will find and answer after you show your faith in God. Show more Show less
