Hi I'm Dave Duncan

I grew up in Southern California. I love to scuba dive and sail. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have three children who are now adults--and .one grand daughter. I love to sail and scuba dive. I also like to shoot (IDPA-style handgun competition) and ride my mountain bike in the nearby hills. I enjoy playing "fetch" with my chocolate lab--but not as much as he does. :)

Why I am a Mormon

When the missionaries came to teach me (and my family) as a youth, I was amazed at how many questions they had answers for--questions that had gone unanswered in my protestant church. The big ones for me were, (1) why don't we have prophets like Moses and Abraham in our times, and (2) did I "live" before I was born or did I just flare into existence at birth? The answers to those questions were profound and have given me so much hope and purpose in life. And after the questions were answered, I found that living God's commandments blessed my life immensely.

How I live my faith

My main goals are to be a good husband and father. I try to seek God's direction in that, and other important areas of my life. Outside of family and work, I spend a lot of time serving in the church, and in the county and state political party whose platform I support. At church, I serve as a clerk for our ward (congregation) and try to ease the administrative load for the bishop (minister) so that he can more effectively minister to the ward members. I also serve as a home teacher for a few families/individuals in the ward.
