About Me

I am a college student who has returned home from serving a full-time LDS mission in Omaha Nebraska-- one of my new favorite places of Planet Earth. I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to serve and dedicate 18 full months to my Savior. I was born into an active LDS family and they mean more to me than anything else this world can offer. I'm 6 feet tall and have often struggled with insecurities. I love music, dancing, singing, and traveling. I enjoy connecting with people and showing my love towards others. If there is anything my friends need, I am usually one to drop what I'm doing to help. I often get my heart broken because I care so much, but I believe you're not living unless you're loving. Love is what makes the world go 'round. I love service and firmly know that "Because I have been given much, I too must give." Compared to others, my life has been extremely blessed. I haven't had huge trials or disasters to go through like many around me. And because I feel like many times I don't deserve what I receive, serving others is how I like to spend my time.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because every aspect of this gospel makes complete sense. Some people may think we're crazy with what we believe, but if you just take the time to learn about it and try it out for yourself, you too will see how simple, true, and perfect it is. This gospel helps to make me the happiest I've ever been. Everything it teaches is to help us to find joy in life. It's not meant to restrict us as some people believe, but it's purpose is to bring us closer to our Father in Heaven and to feel a sense of belonging and love in this difficult and lonely world we live in. We are all loved more than any of us can comprehend. I know that I am a daughter of a God. He knows all and has so much power, and EVERYTHING he does is to help and love me. Everything in His world revolves around us, His children. He cares if I fail my English test and He's excited when I'm excited about a date next weekend. He wants us to talk to him. He listens to me and just wants me to be happy, and return to live with him again, just like any other father would. I KNOW, without a doubt, that this gospel is true, and I'm a Mormon because I live what I believe.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being genuine. With everything that I do, I try to take everything into consideration and be real. If I say I'll do something, I do it. If I don't believe that something is right, I won't do it. I live what I believe and I don't stray from who I am. Of course I make mistakes, we all do. But every time I council with the Lord on those tough decisions in life, my faith grows stronger. I live my faith by continuing to be active in my ward. If I didn't keep going to church, it would get harder to do those things I know to be right. The support and love of those in my community is what keeps me going during the storms that always come. Sometimes our own willpower is not enough. I live my faith by talking and praying with my Father in Heaven. When that communication is open, it's so much more clear to know what needs to be done. I live it because I love it and honestly, it's impossible to get through life without some faith. The stronger, the better.
