Hi I'm Kelsi

I grew up in Idaho. I've been called to preach the gospel in the New York Utica Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a freshman in college. I love to write in my journal and crochet. I also am pretty good at shopping! I enjoy baking and reading, especially the scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love to feel Heavenly Father's love for me. I'm not a perfect person, but through repentance, I've been able to understand and feel that love more. He cares so deeply about each one of us, more than we can ever comprehend. I don't want to live in fear of this Being that I can't talk to or feel His presence. He loves us and wants us to turn to Him all the time. Our Heavenly Father sent us to this earth so that we could progress and become more like him. As a child, I was always doing things to try to be more like my earthly parents. I'd put on my mom's shoes or pretend to talk on the phone like my dad. Here, we're supposed to be trying to be like our Heavenly Parents. And I know that living as a member of the Church is the way to do that.

How I live my faith

My parents live three hours away, so moving to go to college was a test of faith. I was really worried I'd have a difficult time living the Gospel without my parents' influence, but it's really been so easy because I've been surrounded by good friends. Visiting teaching is sometimes difficult in a student ward. I'm really new at the whole thing to begin with and it sometimes seems very overwhelming to teach young women who have served missions and clearly know more about the Gospel than I do, but we keep going and trying our very best to be good visiting teachers.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Really, all that we have is our Heavenly Father's. Giving 10 percent to the Church to built beautiful temples and church buildings, fund missionaries, and help others is a blessing. It all comes down to faith and obeying Heavenly Father because we love Him. Heavenly Father always blesses those that obey His commandments and the law of tithing is no exception. Show more Show less
