Hi I'm Jhornel

I was born and raised in the Philippines. I love missionary work and I am currently working as a carpenter in Japan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I always enjoy playing my guitar, finding friends that share my standards in the Church not only in my country but also in other countries. I'm the eldest of 7 children. I have finished my term in serving the Lord in the Cebu Philippines Mission last 2015 and is currently working as a carpenter here in Japan. I also enjoy making my friends feel special about themselves. When activities such as social dances come, i don't just dance. I make sure that my partners will have smile on their faces. I always love playing with my 3 younger siblings. I often become their horse, frog, or a amusement park ride. I always make sure to find time for my family because i know there is nothing better than to spend time with your family and your loved ones. I always want to meet new friends from my own country or from other countries. I also love Japanese culture and all about Japan. Though i always make mistakes, i always try to be good in the sight of our Father in Heaven. :)

Why I am a Mormon

Since I was a kid. My parents always told me not to do the things that will destroy my chastity and my moral values. I was baptized when I was 8 years old and at that time I just followed my parents. But as time went by I became a member of the youth age group, and I realized more that this is the true Church. I know it is, because here is where I find joy and happiness that I know I won't find in other things. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because there is nothing inside it that encourages us to do evil. Maybe if I did not become a Mormon, my life would have not been in the right direction and I would have not known my purpose in life. But since then, my life started to change and I came to see life in it's bright side. :)

How I live my faith

I strive to become like Jesus Christ by being patient with people, by being considerate and understanding. I go to church every Sunday by bicycle through an 8 kilometer ride. It's pretty far and tiring but I have promised to myself that I will not miss Sunday church service throughout my life. I am glad that the Sabbath day was made by Heavenly Father for us because that's the time when I rest from my worries and labors of the whole week, especially from stress at work. I pray always after I wake up, before I sleep, before and after I study, before I eat, before I go out of the house, before an exam, before making a decision, before doing anything. And I love striving to be the best I can and helping people do the same.
