Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a track and field athlete with dreams of the Olympics. I love cooking, and I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sports, but I especially love running and track and field, and I hope to participate in the 2016 Summer Olympics. I recently returned from missionary service in Ecuador and am working to go to college. I love superheroes (Captain America is my favorite). I was inactive in the Church for almost my whole life, but reactivated right before my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was twelve when I was baptized and was borrowing my parents' testimony. Because we did not have a strong testimony of the Church, we fell into inactivity for a long time. I started going back to Church because of my sister, who had started going back a few months before I did. I continued to go to Church because I found that I was genuinely happier when I was living according to the Gospel. I was able to gain the beginnings of a testimony before I went on my mission about a year after reactivating. During my mission I was able to gain a true conversion. I applied the Gospel to my life daily and was able to find true, lasting happiness. For that reason I continue to be a Mormon; I have found that which fills me completely, and I know that the Gospel, which was taught by Christ during His mortal ministry and by all the prophets, will heal any wound and fill any emptiness. I know that the Church that Jesus Christ created has been restored in our times so that we may know with certainty how we should follow Christ. I know that God calls prophets now to lead us to Christ, just as He has done throughout all time. I know that the Book of Mormon was brought to light in this time to give us the fullness of the everlasting Gospel and prove that Jesus is the Christ. I know that anyone can come to know the same things that I know just by studying and asking of God with full purpose of heart if it is true. Jesus Christ is our Saviour and Redeemer and offers a remission of sins to all who would follow Him 100%. Because I know these things, I am happy, I have a hope of having an eternal family, and I will continue to follow Christ through the thick and the thin.

How I live my faith

I just returned from serving as a full time missionary in Ecuador. I am trying to learn how to apply everything that I learned as a missionary to "normal" life. I try to live my faith by making it a part of my everyday life; reading scriptures every day, praying to Heavenly Father, and going to Church every Sunday. I also keep a blog in which I try to post inspirational messages and help others have a bit more faith. I try to live how Jesus would have me live and stay loyal to Him and the promises that I have made with Him. I hope that through my lifestyle my friends and colleagues will be able to see a disciple of Christ and they will want to come to Him.
