Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in Canada. Enjoy playing Soccer, and Volleyball. Going camping and hiking, and riding sport bikes.

About Me

I am from Canada. I am currently in University taking Engineering Technology. I will probably become an Electrical or Power Engineer. I great fascination of lights and fireworks. I enjoy the outdoors and helping people in general understand principles of life as well as about Jesus Christ. My childhood consists of living in the farm country and working hard. I have learned that the more knowledge we have the better off we are, and the less hard work is required of our back. I just recently married a wonderful young woman. she is very special to me, she suffers from a genetic disease called retinitis pigmentosa. It is a deterioration of the rods and cones in her eyes. So yes she is legally blind. But that does not mean that she can't see. She suffers at times when there is little light or when it is night out. But for now she still gets around and completes the daily tasks that are expected of her by the two of us, as well as the community. I am still learning how to deal with her struggles, hindrances and what she is capable of. And we are learning which hobbies both of us can enjoy. I love the fact that with her condition it has given her a chance to reach out and touch others including myself with the love that she is able to convey. Somehow she is able to make others feel welcome and appreciated in her presence. I try to learn as much as I can from her as well as my Savior Jesus Christ. I figure if I can do that I will be able to better serve my God.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised being LDS also known as being a Mormon. I didn't have to be though. I learned a lot in my later teenage years. I figured if something was good, why change it. I learned a lot from my own studies and particularly like what is said by the prophet Nephi in the Book of Mormon. It is especially clear in 2 Nephi 33. He states that what he writes is true and that it is of Christ, and if ye believe in Christ ye will believe the words that he(prophet Nephi) has given to us, and they teach all men that they should do good. There is so much in the world that it is easy to become caught up in anything and everything. I think that if we all slowed our pace a little and focused more on ourselves and less on the faults of others the world would be so much of a better place. The world is full of greed and lust, peace and love. You just need to look for them. You are the choosing factor as to the people that are around you and the people you associate with and become. So do it, choose your life and who you will become and strive for it everyday and how you will achieve it.

How I live my faith

I teach the seven and eight year old children in my church congregation with my wife. I love seeing their faith and love for Jesus Christ. I love that they don't doubt in the Lord and what he can do. The New Testament has a greater meaning for me now since this assignment. To become like a child makes so much more sense to me, in the fact that they love unconditionally and forgive so easily. I try to support these kids wherever I can. One way is in attending their Baptismal Ordinances. When one becomes of the age eight in our church they are now able to be baptized. My wife and I have committed to going to all the Baptisms of our children if they are in the local area at least. I think that it is a great age to teach and to learn from as well. I feel that living our faith is a day to day experience not just the Sabbath Day or once in a while. I feel that living our faith is just that. Working on ourselves trying to implement the Lord's teachings into our lives so that we can become better people.
