Hi I'm Spencer Zeyer

I grew up on a farm in Melba, Idaho. Nothing beats hunting, fishing, and basketball. I have the best family and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was lucky enough to grow up on a small farming town in south-western Idaho. I grew up working a lot and sitting on my behind in a tractor. I love going hunting and fishing and try to do them as often as possible. I play baseball and basketball. I graduated high school and I am currently enrolled at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah majoring in Business Management. But lucky for me I'm not spending a bunch of time at BYU studying like crazy. I am serving a mission in the Oklahoma, Oklahoma City mission and every day is crazy! I love bringing this gospel to others and their families and its brought me more joy than catching the biggest fish or getting the biggest buck, Im glad I'm out here and will never regret it

Why I am a Mormon

Huh....well it gives me peace. The world today isn't easy and being on a mission in the south has definitely opened my eyes a little bit on why I am a mormon. Through out my mission I have strengthened my faith in Jesus Christ and my understanding of why he came and did what he did. I am a Mormon because i have read and studied the Book of Mormon and found out it was true through very earnest and long wrestles with God.... I don't like to be cheesy about it but that is what happened. My mission has been amazing and has really strengthened my testimony on being bold about the gospel, there are a lot of people searching for the truth but don't really know what to do (D&C 123:11-14)....so that is why im here to bring this truth to others so they can have pure joy. Fun STUFF!!!!!

How I live my faith

Being from a small town everyone always noticed what the Mormons do, so from a young age I worked hard to be a good example, now I'm not perfect and i have slipped up a bit but that is where my faith in Jesus Christ comes in. Back home I had friends that would try and get me to do things that weren't the right thing to do, but the best part is that when you stand up for the things you believe in they always respect you. Right now I'm living my faith by getting up every morning at 6:30 beat tired from the day before and then putting on a black name tag.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Spencer Zeyer
A very important part of our church is the service of others. The youth in the church do service projects on a regular basis, ranging from sending gift bags to the military to splitting and stacking firewood for the elderly. Serving others is what Christ did, and we need to follow his example. In the Book of Mosiah, which is in the Book of Mormon, we can read that, "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." Our heavenly father doesn't only want us to serve those not of our faith but he expects it from us. The Mormon Church, (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), sends out over 80,000 missionaries through out the world today with one purpose, to serve those not of our faith. And it is through this service that our faith grows stronger and we can use what we've been taught to help others feel the same happiness we do. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Spencer Zeyer
The first thing the missionaries want to make sure you know is that you have a loving Heavenly Father that cares so much about you and how you feel. In this world we often feel so alone and the missionaries want to make sure that you know you are never alone and that you always have somebody that loves you more than you know. Everyone has questions about our purpose here on this earth, or where were we before this or where will we go after this life? We believe that our Heavenly Father has sent us here to be strengthened and to over come trials and return and live in his presence. The missionaries message will be one full of love and full of joy. What is being a Mormon like?

Spencer Zeyer
There is a pure happiness that comes from the truthfulness of the gospel. In Proverbs 16:20 we can read that, "He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he." I am sure that a majority of the people outside of the church find themselves to be happy and feel a type of joy, but when these sacred gospel truths are revealed to an individual it is amazing the type of light that radiates off of them and the pure joy that they have received.
