Hi I'm Courtney

I'm a small town girl, loving life and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 4 younger siblings and I have graduated all 4 years of high school and have an associates degree from a college in my area. I would still be going to college, but I decided to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I LOVE food! I love eating and cooking it... Baking is more of a favorite than cooking though. I also Love music! I play the piano and the flute and I sing. I listen to a variety of music and just love hearing all the diversity and different rhythms.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, first because I was born into it. Second, I actually gained my own testimony and grow in it each and every day. I have prayed to know about the truthfulness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and about the Book of Mormon. I have had my own troubles and a lot of my personal conversion also came when my best friend who was not a member of the same church as me was looking in to her own conversion and together we were converted. I have always been a member of this church and have loved every minute of it! The people of the church are some of the greatest people I have ever known and I have found such a comfort in my scriptures and from praying daily to my Heavenly Father who hears and answers my prayers.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by taking life one day at a time knowing that MY Heavenly Father is always there and always listening. I do my best to serve others and bear testimony often of the things that I know to be true. I do my best to be an example to those around me by applying the things I was taught. That really is how I came to know that is true. Through the action that my faith has made me want to do.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

A Mormon church service is 3 hours in length and we sing hymns and say prayers and partake of the sacrament (or communion). There are speakers that give inspirational talks to the congregation. the 2nd hour is general a Sunday school hour where we learn more about the scriptures and how Christ ministered to the people. Primary meetings consist of a group service and age-oriented classes for children 3 through 11 years of age. A nursery is available for young children, ages 18 months to 3 years. Young Women meetings provide classes for those 12 through 17 years of age. Relief Society meeting is for women, ages 18 years and older. Priesthood meetings provide age-oriented classes for males 12 years and older. Visitors are always Welcome!!! It says so on the building so please come in, you will enjoy the spirit. Anybody can attend church if they so please. It's your choice. Show more Show less
