Hi I'm Terry

I grew up on farm in southern Idaho. I am a retired Stream Channel Specialist and a full time Grandpa. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on our family farm in Cache Valley near the Utah-Idaho border with four siblings. I loved hunting fishing and the great outdoors. I earned a Degree in Forest Hydrology from USU and have spent my career working with the Forest Service and the State of Idaho protecting and enhancing water resources, particularly streams and rivers. I enjoy gardening, horticulture, raising rabbits, horseback riding into mountain lakes, and teaching my,kids grand kids to fish and to love and appreciate nature. My wife and I are the parents of five children and grandparents of 13. We enjoyed traveling, camping, seeing and experiencing God's wondrous creations with our children. We are now both retired and spent much of the summer visiting our children and grandchildren in Arizona ,North Carolina,Wyoming and Idaho prior to serving a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother and father were devout Mormons and taught by example how to serve and love those around us. I became a Mormon partly because of their teaching and example and the teaching and example of my Sunday school and primary teachers and partly because of the good feelings I experienced through prayer, the testimonies of people I respected and admired and the spirit bearing witness to me as I listened to prophets and apostles both ancient and modern. I continue to embrace the restored gospel of Jesus Christ as found in his church for many reasons. I believe in my heart that there is a living prophet and 12 apostles on the earth and that they receive revelation from God to guide us. The holy spirit has born witness to me of the truthfulness of what they have said. The Book of Mormon, written by ancient prophets, living on this continent is another witness for Christ and along with the Bible contains the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. One of the greatest aspects of the church is it's youth programs, Having worked with the youth for over 20 years, I have a testimony of how it gives them a purpose and a way to avoid the clutches of the adversary. The coming forth of this church is a fulfillment of ancient prophecy.

How I live my faith

I served my fellow employees for 30 + years as an officer in the Idaho Public employees association. I serve our community on a community emergency response team. I helped coordinate the Johnny Horizon roadside cleanup program for many years. I have acquired the knowledge and training necessary to provide emergency preparedness support to those in need. I loved serving the young men in the Boy scouting program as a scoutmaster for 8 years and an explorer leader and spiritual counselor for many more years. I find joy in service to several elderly people living in our area who have lost their spouses. I served a 2 year mission in Southern England, where I grew to love the people and the country. I served 1.5 years on a mission in the Bishops storehouse, where I helped fill produce orders for those in need. We are currently serving in the Twin Falls temple and are preparing to serve a full time mission.
