Hi I'm Allison

I'm a registered nurse. I'm a proud Oregonian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in beautiful Portland, Oregon and I love where I'm from. I graduated from Brigham Young University Idaho and I now work as a nurse in Utah. I love hot weather, beaches, camp fires, sunrises, and food. My family and my friends are the most important things in my life and as long as I'm with them, I'm usually happy. I like to stretch myself and try new things. Life is short and should be lived to the fullest!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, so the gospel has always been an active presence in my life. However, around the time that I was starting high school, I had a bit of a reality check. My older brother, who I had always looked up to, made the decision to quit attending church and separate himself from the lifestyle that we had been taught since we were children. Around the same time, my best friend who had always had such a strong testimony and passion for the gospel made the same decision to separate herself from the church. Watching these people leave the church who were so close to me, and who I looked up to so much was difficult and confusing. It was at this point that I realized I could no longer be complacent in my faith. I needed to make the decision for myself. It didn't happen in a specific moment. I don't have a big miraculous event to share. But as I contemplated over weeks and months whether I truly had a testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, I came to realize that I did know of it's truth. And it is something that I would not and cannot deny. So I'm a Mormon. And it's not because that's how I grew up, but it's because I have a testimony of the restored gospel. Because I know that there is a prophet on the earth today to guide and direct us. Because I know that the Lord loves his children and provides them with modern revelation to bless our lives in this specific day and age. That's why I'm a Mormon. And I love it.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in every moment of my life. Jesus Christ is the perfect example of what I should be, so I try to emulate Him as much as possible. The gospel brings a happiness and joy into life in a way that nothing else in this world can. As I strive to live my life in a way that aligns with the example Christ gave for me to follow, that joy can radiate out from me and I am able to find opportunities where I am able to bless others.
