Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a dad of 5 who works to help Latino families succeed and thrive in the US. I love being a Mormon!

About Me

I'm married to the coolest lady around, and we have a really fun daughter and 4 amazing sons. I love music and sing anytime I get. I am an Associate Professor at North Carolina State University teaching how to help families and working with Latino families across the US. I work with Latino students and their families to help them develop plans to make college a reality. I also love public speaking and serving others with all my might!

Why I am a Mormon

I learned about the religion when the missionaries knocked on my door many years ago. My sister and I listened to them for quite a while, and one day I decided to really pray about whether the church was true. I felt overcome by the Spirit of the Lord and knew it was true, I soon after got baptized with my sister. I was lead singer in a punk band in high school and loved it, but one day realized it really was not taking me the direction I needed to go in. And from one day to the next I decided to leave that behind and really seek out a new life and new friends. That decision has made all the difference.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the central to all I do in my life. His example directs my life and helps me to try to be more like Him each day. I love my family and want them to be happy. As a dad I feel it is my mission to help prepare my children to be self-sacrificing and Christlike. I try to live my life and my religion like an open book and love to share how its changed my life.
